"The wider the road, the more convenient it is for people to travel, and the children and grandchildren also benefit. I am happy to donate any amount of land!", Mr. Thai shared.

On the same route La 1 - Lu 3, the kindness of Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy's family is even more special. The expanded road passes through a fish pond, which is a source of livelihood and food for Mr. Huy's family. For many people, a fish pond and a garden next to a solid house are life savings, a comfortable support in old age. But when the locality needed to expand this vital traffic route, Mr. Huy did not hesitate to donate part of his family's fish pond so that the road could be expanded.

The spirit of Mr. Luong Van Thai as well as Mr. Nguyen Quoc Huy spread throughout the village. More than 20 households in Lu 3 village along the road were ready to donate land, cut down trees, crops, and relocate structures and architectural objects to serve the road expansion. "People do not calculate the gains and losses. Everyone is happy when the road is expanded," said Mr. Nguyen Van Hieu - Head of Lu 3 village. It took only 1 month and 12 days of construction to complete the La 1 - Lu 3 route, the concrete road surface is twice as wide as before, the people of the 2 villages are very excited to have a new road.

From La 1 - Lu 3 route, the movement of donating land to open roads spread to En 1 - En 3 village. The route connecting the two villages with Provincial Road 162 (Quy Xa - Tang Loong road) quickly received absolute consensus, when 100% of households donated land. Among them, the story of Ms. Ha Thi Coi made many people admire.

The road section on En 1 - En 3 passing through the location where Ms. Coi's family lives has a large slope and a dangerous "sleeve" curve, so it is necessary to fill in part of the fish pond and the family's cinnamon hill land. Ms. Coi's situation was already very difficult because her husband died early, leaving her alone to take care of the family. More than 1,000 4-year-old cinnamon trees made many people regretful, but for the common good, Ms. Coi did not hesitate to cut them down so that machinery could start construction soon. In terms of value, Ms. Coi's land and assets are nearly 200 million VND, but she did not hesitate or think. "The family lost property, but in return, everyone will have convenient travel in the future," Ms. Ha Thi Coi confided.

Up to now, the En 1 - En 3 route has reached 70% of the construction volume and is expected to be completed this year. In total, the two routes La 1 - Lu 3 and En 1 - En 3 are more than 4.5 km long, with an investment capital of over 6.7 billion VND. The valuable thing is that the entire area that needs to be cleared, valued at more than 2.5 billion VND, is all donated by the people, including land, assets and crops on the land.

Behind these numbers is a new way of propaganda, mobilization, and consensus building among the people of Vo Lao commune. Vo Lao commune government has applied digital technology , 3D simulation of the design of 2 routes in the community consultation process.

At the conference held at the commune level, the government invited representatives of households on the two routes La 1 - Lu 3 and En 1 - En 3 to attend and watch a simulation of the entire route on a large screen. Each turn, corner location, bridge construction... were clearly displayed. Through the visual simulation, people could immediately see the new route and know exactly how much land their family needed to donate.

“Thanks to observing from the whole to the details through graphic images, it helps people understand much easier. Many households also suggested making flower gardens to make the road more beautiful, even wider,” said Mr. Ngo Anh Hung - Head of the Economic Department of Vo Lao Commune.

During the site clearance process, commune leaders, party cell secretaries, village chiefs, and prestigious people in the community stayed close to the scene, explained, and assisted in dismantling and cleaning up. With the motto "Remove any problems as they arise", the timely presence of local party leaders and authorities increased the people's confidence. Once the site was "clean", the road was immediately constructed.

The narrow village roads in Vo Lao have now been widened.

In the local socio-economic development strategy for the period 2025 - 2030, Vo Lao commune identified the expansion of rural transport as a key task. That determination is reflected in the La 1 - Lu 3 route, only 25 days after Vo Lao commune was merged, the project was started: "Roads are the "flow of the economy". Therefore, the commune determined to consider rural transport development as both an immediate and long-term task", Comrade Nguyen Khanh Toan - Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Committee of Vo Lao commune emphasized.

People highly agree on the policy of expanding rural roads.

The consensus from the first two main roads even exceeded expectations. After witnessing the obvious effectiveness, 5 villages in the area all registered to expand the traffic routes in 2026 and committed to handing over the land as soon as there was an investment project. "The Resolution of the 1st Party Congress of the Commune, term 2025 - 2030 set the goal of expanding 20/30 km on 7 main roads by 2030. But with the current high consensus of the people, it is very likely that in 2026 we will complete the goal in the second year of implementing the resolution", Chairman of the Commune People's Committee Nguyen Khanh Toan confidently shared.

The upgraded and expanded roads in Vo Lao commune not only open up development space, but also open people's hearts, creating momentum and confidence for Vo Lao to soon complete its goals in the new development phase.
