Building upon a foundation of distinctive agricultural products, the One Commune One Product Program contributes to enhancing the value of agricultural products and creating momentum for rural economic development. To expand consumer markets, the province focuses on standardizing products, promoting trade, digital transformation, and improving the competitiveness of OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities.

Increase competitiveness through product standardization.
The "One Commune, One Product" (OCOP) program is creating momentum for Thai Nguyen to shift from traditional agricultural production to developing a rural economy that is commodity-oriented, professional, and sustainable.
From familiar products like tea, vermicelli, Tan Khanh hill chicken, Vo Nhai custard apple, fragrant green pumpkin, etc., many OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities have focused on improving quality, perfecting packaging, building brands, and expanding consumer markets.
To date, the province has 598 products that have achieved OCOP status from 3 to 5 stars, including 13 products that have achieved 5-star OCOP status at the national level.
After receiving OCOP certification, the value of agricultural products increased by an average of over 20%; many establishments expanded their production scale, and revenue increased from 1.3 times to several times compared to before. The program contributed to increasing the value of agricultural products, creating jobs, increasing income, and promoting economic development in rural areas.

Ms. Nguyen Thi Huong Van, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of Huong Van Tea Cooperative, said: "The fact that our products, Ngoc Xuan Tea Huong Van and Tam Phuc Tea Huong Van, have achieved OCOP 5-star certification affirms the quality and brand of local tea, and also creates more motivation for us to continue to improve our products towards standardization, safety, and sustainability."
Currently, the cooperative is focusing on improving quality, perfecting processing procedures, ensuring traceability, and building a brand associated with the cultural experience of tea.
A key highlight of the OCOP program is the significant shift in the production mindset of cooperatives and businesses. From small-scale production, many units have developed stable raw material areas, applied VietGAP, organic farming, traceability, and food safety standards.
OCOP (One Commune One Product) businesses are increasingly focusing on market demand, consistent quality, and brand value, rather than prioritizing quantity over quality.

Currently, over two-thirds of the province's OCOP (One Commune One Product) entities are cooperatives, playing a core role in linking production and product consumption. Through the cooperative model, many households receive support in safe farming techniques, improve productivity, and participate in sustainable value chains.
Besides focusing on product quality, many businesses and cooperatives are also investing in building brand stories linked to local culture and green development.
Several pioneering units are elevating the value of heritage tea according to green and sustainable standards with premium product lines such as Tan Vien Tea, Diep Tra Shan, Hong Tra Shan, Bach Tra Shan… These products contribute to preserving the essence of Vietnamese tea, promoting tea culture, and gradually bringing Vietnamese tea brands to the international market.
Many tea products from Thai Nguyen now compete based on quality, professional image, traceability, and cultural values associated with the tea-growing region. This is also the direction that helps OCOP tea products and many other OCOP products of the province enhance their competitiveness and gradually access modern distribution systems.

Mr. Nguyen Van Dung, Chairman of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Cooperative Alliance, stated that: For OCOP products to develop sustainably, quality must be the foundation. When products are standardized from production processes to packaging, branding, and traceability, their competitiveness will be enhanced, creating conditions for expanding the consumer market.
Strengthening connections and expanding markets.
To expand the market for OCOP products, Thai Nguyen has developed more than 360 points for introducing and selling products in supermarkets, tourist areas, rest stops, and many localities in the province. Through these points, products such as tea, vermicelli, honey, fragrant green pumpkin, turmeric extract, and processed agricultural products have more opportunities to reach consumers, gradually increasing their value and building their brands.
Along with developing the sales network, since the beginning of the year, the province has intensified trade promotion through fairs, exhibitions, and promotional weeks both within and outside the province.

| Thai Nguyen's OCOP products attract considerable attention from consumers at exhibitions, fairs, and trade promotion programs organized both within and outside the province. |
Notably, the "Thai Nguyen Industry and Trade - OCOP 2026" exhibition brought together 160 booths from 21 provinces and cities, showcasing thousands of regional specialties; and participation in the first Spring Fair in Hanoi in 2026… This contributed to bringing many Thai Nguyen OCOP products to the market in the capital and northern provinces.
Alongside direct trade promotion, digital transformation is becoming an important consumption channel for OCOP products. Currently, the entire province has over 200,000 agricultural households that have created accounts on e-commerce platforms such as Postmart.vn, Voso.vn, C-Thainguyen… with over 2,000 products listed for online trading.
Many cooperatives and businesses are proactively selling their products through Shopee, TikTok Shop, and Facebook, combining it with livestreaming to promote their products and expand their market.
In particular, Thai Nguyen actively implements the program to support small traders in traditional markets in applying e-commerce, in conjunction with the Ministry of Industry and Trade's national program to promote digital technology for e-commerce development.

The highlight was the Megalive "The Quintessence of Vietnamese Tea" event, held on April 23, 2026, at the Hao Dat Tea Cooperative, combining tea-growing experiences with live streaming sales on digital platforms. Through this, many tea products and characteristic agricultural products of the province reached a large online customer base, contributing to the dissemination of Vietnamese tea culture and expanding markets for local products.
Ms. Dang Thuy Linh, Chairwoman of the Board of Directors of APG Eco JSC (Ho Chi Minh City), shared: Before participating in Megalive “The Quintessence of Vietnamese Tea”, we directly surveyed tea growing areas and production facilities in Thai Nguyen in March 2026 to better understand the process and story of OCOP products.
The experience at Hao Dat Tea Cooperative was impressive, as the livestreaming activity was linked to the actual production space, making the product more authentic and emotionally resonant. It is this consistent quality and distinctive cultural value that have created the appeal of Thai Nguyen tea on digital platforms.
In addition, the province is coordinating with e-commerce platforms such as Shopee and TikTok to support businesses and cooperatives in participating in online business; and at the same time, promoting products on the Department of Industry and Trade's website, the Thai Nguyen Economic and Trade Newsletter, and the Provincial Center for Industrial Promotion and Trade Promotion's Fanpage.
In 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade will also produce 10 videos to support trade promotion and connect supply and demand for Vietnamese products.

| OCOP product showrooms and display points are becoming an important distribution channel, contributing to promoting and bringing local agricultural products closer to consumers. |
Mr. Nguyen Huy Hoang, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, said: To improve efficiency, the Department will continue to promote trade on digital platforms; coordinate with universities, businesses and cooperatives to organize many training courses to improve online sales skills, build online stores and operate businesses on e-commerce platforms.
In addition, many mega livestream programs, fairs, and OCOP (One Commune One Product) markets continue to be implemented, contributing to promoting and connecting the consumption of the province's key products through both traditional and e-commerce channels...
With the coordinated efforts of all levels of government, relevant agencies, and the business community, OCOP products in Thai Nguyen are gradually asserting their position in the market, increasing economic value, and spreading local cultural identity.
As distribution channels continue to expand, brands become standardized, and competitiveness increases, OCOP will become an important driving force for the development of the rural economy towards modernization, integration, and sustainability.
