| Immediately after their launch, the centers implemented many meaningful activities, including providing free medical examinations and medication for the elderly. |
Ms. Tieu Thi Van Hanh, Deputy Director of the Department of Health , said: "From the end of April until now, the organization of the center's launch has been very actively implemented by localities. To date, 78 out of 92 communes and wards have held their launch events, and the remaining localities are urgently completing the necessary conditions to ensure the launch takes place this month."
It can be affirmed that the establishment of community health care centers and elderly care centers is being carried out quickly and efficiently in Thai Nguyen . The People's Committees of communes and wards have proactively reviewed and effectively utilized surplus premises to arrange operating locations for the centers.
In localities without surplus facilities, the center will be integrated with health stations, community cultural centers, etc., ensuring suitability to local conditions and convenience for residents to participate.
With the goal of becoming a place where the community, especially the elderly, can organize activities, community health centers and elderly health care centers in communes and wards are tasked with communicating, advising, and providing knowledge about nutrition suitable for their health conditions and age. They also guide elderly people on home health care, especially early detection of disease risks and self-care for common illnesses.
In addition, communication activities also focus on the benefits of regular health check-ups, pre-marital health check-ups, the benefits and importance of prenatal and newborn screening; guiding the elderly to adapt to population aging… Through these activities, knowledge about healthcare is enhanced for the community and the elderly.
Furthermore, the center also organizes health check-ups and provides healthcare services to residents in the area. Simultaneously, it organizes recreational, cultural, artistic, and physical activities, including sports and wellness programs; guides residents on using smartphones, installing and utilizing health management applications (such as electronic health records); and organizes community clubs and other activities based on the needs of residents and the elderly in the area.
Immediately after their launch, the centers implemented many meaningful activities. Accordingly, there were 93 events with 13,954 participants, focusing on activities such as: free medical examinations, health consultations, and medication distribution for the elderly; and cultural, artistic, and sports activities.
To ensure the center operates effectively, local authorities have called upon socio-political organizations, businesses, collectives, and individuals to participate. In particular, they have urged retired doctors and medical professionals in the area to demonstrate a sense of responsibility and utilize their professional experience to participate in healthcare activities for the elderly and the community.
