In the early days of December, when the first winter winds blow in, Moc Chau plateau ( Son La ) has a surprising and rare beauty. Instead of waiting until after the Lunar New Year, the plum gardens have bloomed together, covering the hillsides in a pure white color, creating a romantic scene that attracts tourists.
The poetic scenery of the off-season flower season
Amidst the misty fog typical of the plateau, clusters of pure white plum blossoms stand out on the bare branches, creating a beautiful natural picture. The early blooming season not only brings a new experience but is also a unique highlight, making Moc Chau an attractive destination even when winter has just begun.

The sudden appearance of this off-season plum blossom season is the result of new farming techniques applied by local people. In recent years, gardeners have managed to get plum trees to bloom about a month earlier than usual.
New opportunities for tourism and local economy
The early blooming of plum blossoms not only enriches Moc Chau’s tourism products but also brings direct economic value to farmers. Ms. Nguyen Anh Tuyet, a plum garden owner in Thao Nguyen Ward, said this technique helps prolong the harvest season and creates more attractive tourist attractions.

"The early-blooming plum garden creates an attractive tourist destination while also bringing high economic value. On weekends, her garden can welcome 200 to 300 visitors per day. Tourists come to take pictures, experience and share on social networks, helping the plum garden attract many tourists," Ms. Tuyet shared.
Memorable visitor experiences
Many tourists were surprised and delighted to see this scene. Nguyen Quang Ngoc, a tourist from Phu Tho, said he learned about the off-season plum blossom season through social media and decided to take his family to Moc Chau this weekend.

Mr. Ngoc shared that seeing the white plum trees, next to the rose and mustard gardens, helped his family have relaxing moments after a stressful work week. The early plum blossom season is not only an agricultural phenomenon but has truly become a unique tourism product, promising a bumper crop for local people and unforgettable experiences for visitors.
