Magnolia trees worth millions of dong line the walkways, attracting customers looking to buy them for Tet (Lunar New Year) decorations.

According to observations by reporters on the morning of February 12th (the 25th day of the 12th lunar month), in the Au Co street area ( Hanoi ), amidst a series of familiar ornamental plants for Tet, magnolia trees have become a new highlight, attracting the attention of many flower enthusiasts.

In a concentrated display area, magnolia trees were lined up in large quantities on both sides of the walkway, attracting many people who stopped to browse, take photos, and choose to buy them.

Mr. Tran Van An, a flower vendor in the Au Co area, said that this year is the first time he has imported a large quantity of magnolias of various sizes, displaying them all along the walkways, creating a space overflowing with pink and white blossoms to serve the Tet market.

“The entire garden has nearly 2,000 branches, with prices ranging from 3 to 7 million VND depending on the size of the branch. There are two main colors: pink and white. Currently, the magnolias are in their most beautiful bloom,” Mr. An said.

He also shared that magnolias are quite durable, lasting about 20-25 days if properly cared for from the time they are buds. This is an advantage that makes many customers consider choosing them instead of other types of flowers that wilt quickly.

"Currently, I've sold several hundred trees, and the demand is quite good. Magnolia trees are popular because of their beautiful shape, plump buds, and elegant flower colors. When in bloom, the thick, elongated petals open softly, embracing the golden pistil, standing out against the sparse foliage, creating a distinctive and captivating appearance," Mr. An shared.

Besides its elegant appearance, the flower also scores points with its sweet, delicate fragrance, subtly tinged with vanilla and a refreshing green hue, gently spreading and bringing a warm feeling to the space during springtime.

According to vendors, the number of customers in the days leading up to Tet is quite high. Many people come to browse, take photos, and place deposits to reserve beautiful trees.

"Although the market for Tet flowers this year is more competitive, we still expect to sell all the magnolias we've imported between now and Tet, and we hope this type of plant will continue to be well-received by customers in the years to come," Mr. An expressed.

The pink and white hues of magnolia blossoms add a gentle, warm touch to the spring flower market atmosphere.

Mr. Nguyen Van Khoa (Hanoi) said that during his flower selection trip for Tet today, he was impressed by the magnolia blossoms because of their elegant and gentle appearance, making them suitable for placement in a living room.

"I had researched this type of tree before, but when I saw it in person at the store, I was surprised because the flowers were more beautiful than I imagined. Therefore, I decided to buy a magnolia tree along with a peach tree to display during Tet," Mr. Khoa said.

Meanwhile, Ms. Nguyen Ha Linh (Hanoi) said that the price of magnolia flowers is reasonable compared to the general price level of other ornamental plants for Tet.

"After looking at many branches of different heights, I was told that one magnolia branch cost about 3 million VND, which was within my budget, so I plan to buy it to place in my living room during Tet," Ms. Linh said.
