Hue Today's Homepage Weekend Issue 55

Through 10 editions of the Hue City Creative Startup Competition and the implementation of the Hue Ancient Capital Startup Project for the period 2021-2025, Ms. Tran Thi Thuy Yen has provided a relatively comprehensive assessment of the innovative startup landscape in Hue. Encouragingly, Hue's innovative startup ecosystem has seen significant development. The startup movement has not only expanded in scale but also improved in quality.

To create a sustainable and in-depth innovative startup ecosystem in Hue with products that can "last the long haul," Ms. Thuy Yen stated that Hue will shift strongly from a movement to a focus on quality, concentrating on selecting and "commissioning" projects with growth potential, commercialization capabilities, and market expansion. The startup ecosystem will be designed to provide continuous support throughout the entire process, from idea generation and incubation to acceleration, commercialization, and fundraising.

Also in the field of economics , author Le Tho has an article titled "Identifying Breakthroughs for Growth" .

The Resolution of the 17th Congress of the Hue City Party Committee sets a target of achieving an average GRDP growth rate of 10% or more during the 2026-2030 period. To achieve this target, the city needs not only to expand its economic scale but also to create new, in-depth growth drivers. In the growth picture for the coming period, industry and construction are identified as the main driving force, with an expected growth rate of 13-15.5% per year. This is a significant shift, especially considering that Hue has been perceived for many years as a service-oriented and heritage-focused locality.

Alongside industry, strategic infrastructure investment is identified as the second breakthrough, acting as "seed capital" for long-term growth. During the period 2026-2030, the total social investment capital of Hue is expected to reach approximately 270,000 billion VND, averaging 54,000 billion VND per year.

A notable highlight in the growth strategy for the 2026-2030 period is the identification of the digital economy as a new growth engine, with the goal of this sector accounting for approximately 30% of GRDP by 2030. Linking digital transformation with urban governance, tourism services, cultural industries, and logistics is seen as a "soft lever" to help Hue achieve rapid growth without sacrificing the environment and its identity.

In the field of Culture and Arts, Hue Today Weekend introduces to readers a translator from Hue who is "quiet yet powerful" - Nguyen Thong Nhat. In the article "The Difficult Path of Nguyen Thong Nhat ," author Phi Tan recounts the journey that led Nguyen Thong Nhat to translation and the quiet passion that bound him to this work.

“In Hue, until now, the number of people pursuing their passion for translating literary works can be counted on the fingers of one hand. Pursuing literary translation is a difficult path, and if you don't have a real passion, you can't do it. “I never thought of translating literary books as a way to make money; compared to being a tour guide, the income is even much lower. But translating books is a form of ‘practice makes perfect,’ a sparkling joy of my own…” – Phi Tan connects this to Nguyen Thong Nhat's story.
