In a series of activities to celebrate the 55th anniversary of the establishment of Vietnam - Sweden diplomatic relations, with the consent of the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club has just announced the decision to establish the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden.
Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam, Permanent Deputy Director of the Vietnam Cultural Heritage Conservation Support Fund, Head of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club and Ms. Khuc Thi Dau, Vice President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club presented the decision and gifts to the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden.
This is a meaningful activity to continue to honor and spread the beauty of traditional Vietnamese ao dai to all five continents.
The launching ceremony of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden took place on September 14 in Helsingborg, The city has the largest Vietnamese population in southern Sweden. This is a very meaningful event taking place in a series of activities celebrating the 55th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Sweden.
In a letter to the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Kingdom of Sweden Tran Van Tuan sent warm congratulations to the Board of Directors of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden in particular and all members of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden in general.
“For generations, the ao dai has become a cultural beauty of the Vietnamese people, a source of pride for our nation. For women, the ao dai adds to the traditional beauty and charm of Vietnamese women. Therefore, preserving the ao dai heritage is also preserving the cultural identity of the Vietnamese people,” Ambassador Tran Van Tuan affirmed.
Ms. Khuc Thi Dau, Vice President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club, announced the decision to establish the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden.
The Ambassador expressed: “I hope that the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden will make every effort to preserve and promote the value of Ao Dai heritage in the Kingdom of Sweden, on the one hand helping to preserve Ao Dai culture in the Vietnamese community in the area, on the other hand further promoting the image of Ao Dai to local people, contributing to promoting cultural exchange and strengthening solidarity between the people of the two countries.”
Ambassador Tran Van Tuan said that the Vietnamese Embassy in Sweden will accompany and support Vietnamese associations in the area in general and the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden in particular in carrying out activities to preserve and promote the value of Ao Dai heritage.

Sharing with members of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden, Ms. Nguyen Thi Thanh Tam expressed her special feelings and wished that the image of Vietnamese Ao Dai will always be spread to overseas Vietnamese in other countries as well as to many international friends.
Speaking at the launching ceremony, President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden Tran Thi Oanh emphasized that since the establishment of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club, the desire to honor the beauty of Vietnamese women's ao dai has spread to provinces and cities, many more clubs have appeared, and even to Europe.
Ms. Tran Thi Oanh said that currently, the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Clubs in various countries are in the process of being established. The Club in France and Belgium were launched on September 7. The Club in the Czech Republic will be launched on September 26, the Club in Hungary will be launched on October 6, the Club in Germany will be launched on October 20, and the Club in Slovakia will continue...

“Today, September 14, is a very special day, the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club was officially launched in Sweden under the witness of a large Vietnamese community in the South as well as representatives of women across the Kingdom of Sweden,” Ms. Oanh expressed.
According to the President of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden, the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club will be a cultural link to preserve Vietnamese identity, attract the participation of Vietnamese women in provinces and cities, from there plan activities, organize programs to promote Ao Dai in other countries; organize seminars and scientific conferences on Ao Dai, create the basis and conditions to contribute to completing the dossier to submit to UNESCO to recognize Ao Dai as an intangible cultural heritage of humanity.

Ms. Oanh also believes that the ao dai is not only a symbol of cultural tradition, the gentleness, grace and dignity of women; when worn in solemn family and community festivals, on New Year's Eve, important anniversaries, weddings, and family formations of oneself and relatives..., the ao dai is also a work of art, a delicate craft; an endless source of inspiration for designers.
On the occasion of the establishment of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden, Dr. Phan Bich Thien, President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe, also sent a congratulatory letter.
“This event marks an important milestone in the process of promoting and honoring the value of Vietnamese costumes and culture of Ao Dai to international friends in Europe in general, as well as in Sweden in particular. The establishment of the club is also a testament to the affection of Vietnamese women in Sweden towards their homeland, trying to preserve and maintain the heritage values of the Vietnamese people,” said Dr. Phan Bich Thien.

The President of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe also shared his joy that the home of the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe has a new member, the Vietnamese Ao Dai Heritage Club in Sweden.
“I believe that Vietnamese women in Sweden will join hands with Vietnamese women in other European countries to honor and promote the value of Vietnamese Ao Dai, aiming to have UNESCO recognize Ao Dai as an intangible cultural heritage of the world …”, Dr. Phan Bich Thien confided.
The Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe has been officially established according to the Decision dated August 8, 2024 of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club. The Executive Committee consists of 29 members from 18 countries, including the President, 12 Vice Presidents and 16 Members. The launching ceremony of the Vietnam Ao Dai Heritage Club in Europe will take place on September 26, 2024 in Budapest (Hungary).
