The opening match of Group B of SEA Games 33 was a perfect opening for the Vietnamese women's team. Right from the first minutes, Hai Yen opened the scoring party with a precise rebound. The early goal was the catalyst for Vietnam's attack to explode.
Facing an opponent with many naturalized players but a loose organization, coach Mai Duc Chung and his team deployed a diverse, smooth and fast playing style. Sometimes the team flexibly attacked the flanks, sometimes decisively penetrated the center, and daring long-range shots were continuously launched.
Young faces like Nguyen Thi Hoa, Hai Linh and Thanh Nha did not hesitate to try their hand from the second line, causing the Malaysian defense to always be in a state of alarm. Hai Linh and then Thai Thi Thao concretized that confidence with cool finishing shots.
