On the evening of November 25, the award ceremony and closing ceremony of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival - 2025 took place at the Southern Military Theater (No. 140, Cong Hoa Street, Tan Son Nhat Ward, Ho Chi Minh City).

In his closing speech summarizing the 2025 Vietnam Film Festival, Mr. Dang Tran Cuong - Director of the Department of Cinema, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 2025 Vietnam Film Festival, affirmed that the past two years have marked an impressive period of strong development of Vietnamese cinema. In particular, the rate of Vietnamese films accounting for 70% of the total number of screenings in theaters, shows the enduring vitality and strong growth of the country's cinema industry.
The festival is organized as a series of large-scale activities, connecting artists - the public - managers - investors - businesses - schools in a creative, open space and bringing about many specific, practical results.
The event is even more meaningful as it was held in Ho Chi Minh City, a locality that has just joined the UNESCO Creative Cities Network in the field of cinema. This is an important milestone, opening up opportunities for Vietnamese cinema to grow stronger in the region and on the international stage.

Before announcing the award categories, the organizing committee held a minute of silence to commemorate compatriots who died in the recent storm and flood; at the same time, called on delegates and guests to join hands to donate and support.
In the award ceremony, as expected, the film Red Rain had a great night of victory when it was named in 5 different categories. In which, the work of director, Meritorious Artist Dang Thai Huyen surpassed many strong competitors such as: Sister-in-law, Death Battle in the Sky, Tunnel: Sun in the Dark to win the Golden Lotus in the category of Feature Film.

In addition, the film also won 4 more awards: Best Cinematography, Best Supporting Actor (actor Phuong Nam), Best Art Design and Best Sound Design.
In this category, the organizers also awarded the Silver Lotus to 3 films: Tunnel: Sun in the Dark , Sister-in-law and Death Battle in the Air and the Jury Prize to the films: Mai , Mang Me Di Bo and Detective Kien: Headless Case .

The Golden Lotus in other film categories was also awarded to: Awakening and Resolving and The Keeper of the Heritage Soul (Documentary), Fine Dust - Danger in the Sky (Science Film), Cricket - Adventure to the Swamp and Little Trang Quynh - The Legend of the Taurus (Animation).

The award for "Most Favorite Vietnamese Film" in the Panorama program was given to the film Ghost Dog (director Luu Thanh Luan). The Legend of the Poinsettia Flower (Vietnam Animation Studio Joint Stock Company) received the award for Inspirational Work.
In the individual awards for feature films, director Ham Tran ( Tử Chiền trên Không ) received the award for Best Director; Tuan Tran ( Mang Mẹ Đi Bồ ) and Phuong Anh Dao ( Mai ) received the award for Best Actor/Actress; Bao Dinh ( Tử Chiền trên Không ) and Phuong Nam ( Mua đỏ ) received the award for Best Supporting Actor while Hong Dao ( Mai ) received the award for Best Supporting Actor/Actress.

Meanwhile, the screenwriters of the film Sister-in-law received the award for Best Screenplay Author and director Thu Trang received the award for Best Debut Film Director. In addition, the organizers also awarded the awards for Best Cinematography and Best Music ( Tunnel: Sun in the Dark ).
Other individual awards also honored: Outstanding Screenplay Writer for the screenwriting team of the film Sister-in-law , Outstanding Debut Feature Film Director for Thu Trang ( Billion Dollar Kiss ), Outstanding Cinematography and Outstanding Music for the film Tunnel: Sun in the Dark.

At the end of the award ceremony, the organizing committee announced that the 25th Vietnam Film Festival - 2027 will be held in Bac Ninh province. Mr. Mai Son, member of the Provincial Party Standing Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the Bac Ninh Provincial People's Committee, received the hosting flag from Ms. Tran Thi Dieu Thuy, Vice Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee, Co-Head of the Steering Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival.
