"Red Rain" won the Golden Lotus award at the 24th Vietnam Film Festival

Closing ceremony on the evening of November 25 24th Vietnam Film Festival took place at the Army Theater, Ho Chi Minh City. This year's Vietnam Film Festival was jointly organized by the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee.

Surpassing many other movies, Red Rain won the Golden Lotus Award in the feature film category. The Golden Lotus Award of the Vietnam Film Festival is considered the biggest film award in Vietnam.

Standing on stage to receive the award, director Dang Thai Huyen and the cast could not help but be moved. On behalf of the film crew, the director sent thanks to the audience who loved and supported the film over the past months.

The Silver Lotus Prize was awarded to three works: Sun Tunnels in the Dark, Death Battle in the Air and Sister-in-law.

The Jury Choice Award was given to Tomorrow (Tran Thanh), Take mother away (Phan Gia Nhat Linh) and Detective Kien: The Headless Mystery (Victor Vu) - films that show the exploration and personality of creative teams.

Acting awards recognized Phuong Anh Dao in the female lead role of Mai and Tuan Tran with the success of Take your mother away.

Supporting Actress Award goes to Hong Dao (Take mother away), Bao Dinh (Death Battle in the Air) and the South (Red Rain).

Mr. Dang Tran Cuong - Director of the Department of Cinema, Head of the Organizing Committee of the 24th Vietnam Film Festival - spoke at the closing ceremony.

Speaking at the closing ceremony, Director of the Department of Cinema Dang Tran Cuong affirmed that he always considers the success of film units as his own success, and committed to working together to build a professional and sustainable environment for the Vietnamese film industry to take off in the new era.

According to him, the 24th Vietnam Film Festival is not only a festival for filmmakers but also a forum for connecting, exchanging and orienting the future of the country's film industry in the new era.

"Ho Chi Minh City has just been recognized by UNESCO as the first Creative City of Cinema in Southeast Asia and that opens up unprecedented opportunities for Vietnamese cinema. We believe in the creativity, courage and aspiration of artists to bring Vietnamese cinema to rise stronger in the international arena," he shared.
