Heavy rains gradually decrease in areas

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today and tonight (August 3), in the North and the area from Thanh Hoa to Quang Binh, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, locally very heavy rain with rainfall from 30-70mm, in some places over 120mm.

The Central Highlands and Southeast regions continue to have very heavy rain with amounts of 20-50mm, in some places over 100mm.

In addition, today, from Quang Tri to Thua Thien Hue, there will be scattered showers and thunderstorms, locally heavy rain with rainfall of 20-40mm, some places over 70mm. Similarly, today and tonight, the Southwest region will have rainfall of 10-30mm, some places over 50mm.

Rain time in the above areas is mostly concentrated in the afternoon and night.

The meteorological agency said that from August 4, heavy rain in the Northern, North Central, Central Highlands and Southeastern regions will gradually decrease.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, people need to be on guard against the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas; be on guard against heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Northwest

Cloudy with moderate to heavy rain, some very heavy rain and scattered thunderstorms. Light wind. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning and strong gusts of wind.

Northeast

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, with scattered showers and thunderstorms during the day, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night, with localized heavy rain. Southwesterly winds level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Central Highlands
