Heavy rain in many places, high risk of landslides

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, from today (August 6) to tomorrow night, in the Northern region and Thanh Hoa, there will be moderate rain, heavy rain, very heavy rain in some places and scattered thunderstorms. The total rainfall from 1am this morning to 1am August 8 is 60-120mm, in some places over 180mm.

Nghe An and Ha Tinh areas have showers and thunderstorms, locally moderate rain, heavy rain with rainfall from 10-30mm/24h, some places over 50mm/24h.

From the night of August 7-8, moderate rain, heavy rain, and in some places very heavy rain will appear in mountainous areas and the midlands of the North with an amount of 20-50mm, in some places over 100mm.

Due to the impact of heavy rain, people need to be on guard against the risk of flash floods, landslides in mountainous areas and flooding in low-lying areas; be on guard against heavy rain in a short period of time causing flooding in urban areas. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

In addition, today and tomorrow, from Quang Tri to Khanh Hoa, there will be hot weather, some places will be extremely hot with the highest temperature of 35-37 degrees, some places will be over 37 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 55-60%.

The heat wave in the Central and South Central regions is likely to last for many days to come.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, hot during the day, some places will be very hot; Ninh Thuan-Binh Thuan will have sunny days; showers and thunderstorms in some places in the afternoon and evening. Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees. Highest temperature: 35-37 degrees, some places above 37 degrees; Ninh Thuan-Binh Thuan: 32-35 degrees.

Central Highlands
