Every year, from April to August, when the sea in Central Vietnam is calm, vast fields of seaweed cover the seabed, displaying their shimmering golden hues, ushering in a brilliant "golden season." Once the seaweed matures, locals eagerly begin harvesting it.

The seaweed beds are carefully harvested by divers using manual methods, then brought ashore to be dried and processed into nutritious seafood specialties. After the meticulous harvesting, drying, and sorting processes, locals can earn about 1 million VND per day, equivalent to 30-40 million VND per person per month.
In some coastal villages on the Quy Nhon peninsula (Gia Lai province), the community is preserving the "golden season" of seaweed to develop eco -tourism and create a more sustainable source of income.
