On the afternoon of February 11th, at the 6th session (special session) of the Da Nang City People's Council, 10th term (2021-2026), delegates unanimously approved a resolution stipulating the fee rates, subjects, collection methods, payment, management, and use of entrance fees for cultural sites and museums in the city.
According to the resolution, a uniform entrance fee will be applied to both Vietnamese and foreign visitors at the following historical sites: Hoi An Ancient Town, My Son Sanctuary, Bang An, Chien Dan, Khuong My ancient tower complexes, and the Sa Huynh - Champa Culture Museum.

Hoi An Old Town is sometimes overcrowded due to the large number of tourists.

Specifically, in the ancient town of Hoi An, the entrance fee ranges from 20,000 to 30,000 VND per person per site. For the My Son Sanctuary, the entrance fee is 40,000 VND per person per visit. At the Bang An, Chien Dan, and Khuong My ancient tower complexes, the fee ranges from 10,000 to 20,000 VND per person per visit. The Sa Huynh – Champa Cultural Museum, however, charges 20,000 VND per person per visit.
The resolution also stipulates free admission for the following groups: Vietnamese citizens with disabilities who have a disability certificate; those entitled to preferential policies for cultural enjoyment; children under 16 years old and students; Vietnamese citizens aged 60 and above; and diplomatic guests.
The collection of fees is carried out by agencies and units delegated or authorized by the City People's Committee in accordance with regulations.
Regarding the mechanism for managing and utilizing revenue, the unit is allowed to retain 45% of the fees collected from visiting cultural sites in the ancient town of Hoi An; 50% from the My Son Sanctuary; and 90% from other cultural sites including the ancient towers of Bang An, Chien Dan, Khuong My, and the Sa Huynh - Champa cultural museum.
Regarding entrance fees to the ancient town of Hoi An and the My Son Sanctuary, after deducting the costs retained by the public service unit to cover the operating expenses of the fee-collecting service as stipulated, the entire remaining amount will be fully remitted to the state budget.
This funding is used for the restoration, upgrading, and preservation of heritage sites; organizing cultural activities, festivals, tourism promotion, and related management tasks as stipulated in Resolution No. 259/2025/QH15 of the National Assembly on special mechanisms and policies for the development of Da Nang City.

Reviewing this matter, the Economic and Budget Committee of the Da Nang City People's Council proposed that the City People's Committee direct the organization of fee collection in a scientific and transparent manner; promote the application of information technology to reduce administrative procedures and create favorable conditions for tourists. At the same time, it is necessary to quickly unify the delegation of authority for managing and exploiting public assets; clarify the functions and tasks of relevant units to avoid overlapping in management.
Furthermore, Da Nang City needs to focus on improving the quality of management, preservation, and promotion of heritage values; ensuring the landscape, environment, and security at tourist attractions. Research into a plan to decentralize revenue sources and expenditure responsibilities, with a focus on increasing allocation to local authorities, is also proposed to enhance the effectiveness of managing and promoting cultural heritage values in the area.
