Pastor Dieu Van Trung: An exemplary figure of prestige for the Cho Ro ethnic community.

Over the years, Pastor Dieu Van Trung has consistently been a shining example in the work of disseminating information and mobilizing religious followers and ethnic minorities to implement the Party's guidelines and policies, and the State's laws on ethnic affairs. He has also worked with local authorities to effectively build and protect national unity at the grassroots level, contributing to socio -economic development and maintaining security and order in ethnic minority areas.

Besides preaching and praying at the church, Pastor Dieu Van Trung often combines his pastoral work with his responsibilities as a respected figure among ethnic minority communities. He encourages believers and ethnic minority households to maintain general environmental hygiene, promotes more effective waste collection and disposal methods, contributing to improved environmental sanitation and creating a green, clean, and beautiful residential area according to new rural standards; motivates households to adopt a cultured lifestyle, maintain harmony, and prevent domestic violence; actively encourages young people to stay away from social vices; and calls upon and mobilizes households and church members to participate in community activities, fundraising, and support for those in difficult circumstances.
Pastor Dieu Van Trung also encouraged families to pay attention to and create conditions for their children to go to school, become useful members of society, and have more opportunities to find good jobs with higher incomes.
For many years, in his role as a respected figure, Pastor Dieu Van Trung has actively supported disadvantaged Catholic and ethnic minority communities through various effective methods and practical models, which have been positively received by the people. The amount of money raised and donated to support parishioners and ethnic minorities has reached over 1 billion VND. Among these achievements, notable models include: the "Rice Jar of Compassion" program; support for building charitable houses; and the piggy bank savings program.
With the "Rice Jar of Compassion" model, Pastor Dieu Van Trung encouraged each family to set aside a portion of their rice and put it in a separate container. Every two weeks, the Protestant church receives rice from the community, weighs it into bags, and then, after further donations, sends these bags of rice to needy families. To date, this model has supported 2,440 needy households with 24,000 kg of rice worth 432 million VND.
The model of supporting the construction of charitable houses has successfully persuaded one ethnic minority family to donate land to a poor, landless household for housing construction. When the State implemented the policy of supporting housing construction for poor ethnic minority households, Pastor Dieu Van Trung mobilized the community, households, and Protestant believers of the Gia Ray branch to donate and provide additional financial support to households ranging from 15 million to 30 million VND, depending on the funds raised. To date, Pastor Dieu Van Trung has mobilized and, together with the local authorities, supported the construction of 4 charitable houses for disadvantaged ethnic minority households with a total value of 105 million VND.
In addition, he mobilized and supported over 500 disadvantaged households with a total amount exceeding 150 million VND; donated over 1000 gifts to the poor during Christmas and Lunar New Year with a total value of 300 million VND through the "piggy bank savings" model; and provided financial support of 35 million VND to 7 cases of terminally ill patients who passed away.
Through his effective and meaningful methods, Pastor Dieu Van Trung has contributed, together with the local government and the team of influential people in Xuan Loc commune, to gradually improve the material and spiritual lives of ethnic minorities in the commune, develop their economy, and maintain security and order in the ethnic minority areas.
To acknowledge the contributions of Pastor Dieu Van Trung as a respected figure among ethnic minority communities, central agencies, the Provincial People's Committee, the Department of Ethnic Minorities and Religion, and the Xuan Loc District People's Committee have commended and rewarded him for many consecutive years, including: the Provincial People's Committee awarding him a certificate of merit for being an exemplary person and doing good deeds; and the Provincial People's Committee awarding him a certificate of merit at the second annual ceremony honoring respected figures, intellectuals, entrepreneurs, and outstanding ethnic minority households in Dong Nai province in 2022...
