Even though it was New Year's Day, there were still quite a lot of visitors.

Many passengers wore traditional ao dai (Vietnamese long dress). Ms. Tran Thi Nga said that she flies back to Quang Ngai on the first day of Tet (Lunar New Year) every year.
According to her, this departure time not only brings good luck but also offers more affordable tickets and less airport congestion. "Flying today is both relaxing and gives me the feeling of starting the new year with a joyful trip," she shared.

For over 11 years, Nguyen Thi Thuy Linh (Gia Dinh ward) has been returning to her husband's hometown in the North for Tet (Lunar New Year). She said that every year, her family usually returns from the 25th day of the 12th lunar month. This year, due to an unexpected event, she returned later than planned.

Meanwhile, Thu Ha's family chose to celebrate the New Year with a trip to Phu Quoc, coinciding with her child's first birthday. "After the New Year's ceremony this morning, the whole family went straight to the airport. This year, we're keeping it simple so we can spend time with our child," Ms. Ha happily shared.

Hieu, Linh, and Nhung said that for the past two years they have chosen to stay in Ho Chi Minh City to celebrate New Year's Eve to experience the different atmosphere, before flying back to their hometowns when airfares "cool down." All three also brought two pots of yellow apricot blossoms as gifts.

In the lobby area, there was a constant stream of people coming and going.

Phi Phụng and her cousin Thanh Huy flew to Hanoi for a New Year's trip. After a few days exploring the capital, the two sisters planned to go to Dien Bien. "Taking a long trip at the beginning of the year will bring good luck," Phi Phụng said with a smile.

This time, Vietnam Airlines brings the Tet holiday atmosphere onto the aircraft with an updated menu featuring traditional dishes that evoke the flavors of all three regions of Vietnam.

Flight attendant Le Minh Nhi and her colleagues wore modernized ao dai (traditional Vietnamese dress) instead of their regular uniforms to serve passengers. "I am very happy and proud to be working on the first flight of the year in traditional ao dai," she shared.
