In that context, the work of universalizing education and eliminating illiteracy is identified by the Party Committee, government and educational institutions in the commune as a fundamental task, contributing to creating fundamental changes in human development and building a learning society.

To realize this goal, immediately after the merger, the Commune People's Committee established a Steering Committee for universal education, illiteracy eradication and building a learning society. The Steering Committee clearly assigned tasks to its members, issued operating regulations, developed a self-inspection plan, and agreed on the direction of implementation.
We identify universal education and illiteracy eradication as a key task throughout, closely linked to the goal of improving the quality of human resources. The commune includes universal education targets in the socio -economic development resolution and synchronously deploys many solutions, considering this a key factor to improve people's knowledge and reduce poverty sustainably.
From that orientation, Muong Lai has achieved many remarkable results in 2025: universal education at all three levels (preschool for 5-year-old children, primary school and secondary school) continues to be maintained at level 3; the rate of 5-year-old children attending class reaches 100%, the literacy rate for the 15-35 age group reaches 99.53%, and the 15-60 age group reaches 97.64%.
The whole commune has 9 schools (4 kindergartens, 5 primary schools and secondary schools) with synchronous investment and spacious facilities, creating important conditions to improve the quality of comprehensive education.

Along with that, 100% of schools achieved the title of "Happy School"; the models of "Happy Classroom" and "Green School" were promoted, creating a safe and friendly learning environment...
To achieve the above results, first of all, we must mention the propaganda and mobilization efforts at the grassroots level of the entire political system in Muong Lai. In the villages and hamlets of ethnic minorities, where a part of the people still maintain the habit of letting children stay home to look after younger siblings or follow their parents to work, communication work on education has been widely deployed.
Authorities, organizations and schools stick close to the locality, directly approach each target group to propagate and mobilize, thereby raising awareness and responsibility in sending children to school.

At An Phu Kindergarten, the work of mobilizing parents to send their children to class is maintained regularly. Ms. Hoang Thi Tuyet - Principal of the school said: "We especially attach importance to mobilizing parents to send their children to class, especially 5-year-old children preparing to enter grade 1. The school maintains a discipline of attendance, minimizing the situation of students absent from school and irregular attendance. Teachers are assigned to stay close to the village, coordinate with organizations to grasp population fluctuations, and avoid missing out on mobilized subjects."
Not only directly propagating, the school also diversified communication forms through the radio system, social network zalo, community facebook, distributing leaflets and organizing group meetings with parents. Thanks to that, people's awareness has many positive changes; the attendance rate of students is maintained at over 96%, 100% of 5-year-old children completed the preschool education program.
At the primary and secondary levels, schools continue to promote innovation in teaching methods, application of information technology and digital transformation. Mr. Nguyen Thien Ke - Principal of Vinh Lac Primary and Secondary School shared: "We increase investment in facilities and modern equipment; teachers use electronic lesson plans, digital learning materials, interactive software to make lessons more lively, helping students absorb better."

Along with teaching knowledge, the school pays special attention to educating students on qualities, abilities and life skills. Hobby clubs, experiential activities and career guidance are regularly organized to promote each student's individual abilities.
“Our goal is comprehensive education, leaving no student behind,” emphasized teacher Nguyen Thien Ke.
Along with the school system, the Fatherland Front and mass organizations also play an important role in consolidating the results of universal education and illiteracy eradication through propaganda work on the Party's guidelines and the State's policies in education.

At the same time, the women's union coordinated to organize many literacy classes combined with vocational training for female workers, helping people learn to read and write while also acquiring appropriate vocational skills.
Women's associations also actively encourage illiterate members to attend classes, while promoting the models of "Learning Families", "Learning Clans", and "Learning Communities", contributing to creating a solid foundation for a learning society in the locality.

In 2026, Muong Lai commune aims to continue improving the quality of universal education at all levels; promoting digital transformation and modernizing the data management system; developing a learning society; expanding community education programs; strengthening coordination between schools - families - society to build a sustainable educational environment.
“Innovations in education will create an important driving force for Muong Lai to develop strongly, build advanced new rural areas, and strive to become a locality with consistent and sustainable education quality,” emphasized Ms. Hoang Thi Thuy - Vice Chairwoman of Muong Lai Commune People's Committee.
From the synchronous efforts of the political system, the work of universalizing education and eliminating illiteracy in Muong Lai has been creating an important foundation for human resource development, opening up many new opportunities in socio-economic development, and strengthening people's trust in the sustainable development of the locality.
