On December 9, the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City held the 6th session of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City, term X, 2021-2026 (year-end session). The session took place over 2 days (December 9 and 10).
Attending the meeting were comrades: Nguyen Van Duoc, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Committee; Dang Minh Thong, Deputy Secretary of the Ho Chi Minh City Party Committee.
The meeting was chaired by comrades: Vo Van Minh, Deputy Secretary of the City Party Committee, Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Van Tho, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Permanent Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City; Tran Van Tuan, member of the Standing Committee of the City Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City; Huynh Thanh Nhan, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City; Nguyen Truong Nhat Phuong, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ho Chi Minh City.

Chairman of the Ho Chi Minh City People's Council Vo Van Minh informed that the session will discuss and decide on many important contents, including the socio-economic situation in 2025 and key tasks and solutions in 2026 and the 2026-2030 period.
At the same time, listen to and discuss the results of implementing the 2025 theme "Focusing on streamlining the apparatus to be lean - strong - efficient - effective - efficient; promoting digital transformation; implementing Resolution No. 98/2023/QH15 of the National Assembly ; fundamentally resolving the City's difficulties and backlogs"; results of practicing thrift and fighting waste.
In addition, the HCMC People's Council will hear the Chairman of the HCMC People's Committee provide more information on the city's socio-economic situation and major orientations.
The meeting will consider 54 contents, including 27 legal resolutions and 27 individual resolutions. These are contents directly related to the implementation of the 2-level local government model, building specific institutions for the city, creating a legal corridor to better exploit potentials and advantages, mobilize and effectively use resources for development.

The session will devote adequate time to question and answer activities, which will be broadcast live on television and radio for voters and people to follow.

This is also the beginning of a new development phase, associated with the task of continuing to build and develop Ho Chi Minh City quickly and sustainably, for the whole country and with the whole country.
At the same time, associated with implementing new resolutions of the Central Committee and the City Party Committee, completing Party Congresses at all levels towards the 14th National Party Congress; electing deputies to the 16th National Assembly and People's Council deputies at all levels for the 2026-2031 term.

Socio-economic development results of Ho Chi Minh City in 2025:
- GRDP in 2025 of Ho Chi Minh City is estimated to increase by about 8.03%.
- Total GRDP value in 2025 is estimated at 2.74 million billion VND, accounting for 23.5% of the country's GDP.
- GRDP per capita in 2025 is estimated to reach 8,066 USD.
- Foreign investment attraction is estimated at 8.16 billion USD, up 21.1% over the same period.
- State budget revenue in 2025 is estimated at about 747,000 billion VND, exceeding the assigned estimate.
- The whole city newly established 59,750 enterprises with total registered and additional capital estimated at over 2 million billion VND.
