The Math exam started at 2:30 p.m., but a candidate at Chu Van An High School, Hanoi , did not arrive until 3 p.m.
On the afternoon of June 28, at the Chu Van An High School exam site, a candidate was picked up by a motorbike taxi at 3 p.m., 30 minutes late for the math exam. Seeing that the gate was closed and he could not enter, the male student was confused and burst into tears. Parents waiting nearby for their children and volunteers supporting the exam season came to ask and comfort him.
Taking her child to take the exam here this morning, Ms. Tra My, 42 years old, in Ba Dinh district, said the male student just cried and didn't say anything.
"I also have a child taking the exam so I feel sorry for him. I hope the examination board will create conditions for him to attend the backup exam on June 30," said Ms. My.

Mr. Le Hong Chung, head of the Chu Van An High School examination site, said on the evening of June 28 that there were 642 candidates taking the Math exam but four were absent. One of them was reported by his family to be in the ward health department due to health problems and asked to be absent from the following sessions.
Mr. Chung also said that the exam site security guard reported that a student was late and had to go to the medical station. According to the regulations, if a student is more than 15 minutes late after the test start time, they will not be allowed to take the exam that day.
"Because the family did not go to the exam site to work but only sent in an application, I am not sure if that is the case or not," said Mr. Chung.
