On December 2, the Department of Education and Training of An Giang province informed that Hon Dat High School reported an incident in which a male 10th grade student of the school was beaten by a classmate, which was posted on social media, causing a stir in public opinion.

According to reports, a 1-minute video recently appeared on social media about a 10th grade student at Hon Dat High School, An Giang Province, being beaten by a group of classmates and having sanitary napkins stuffed into his mouth. In the video, the group of young men used foul language, causing viewers to be outraged by the actions of these students.

The leaders of Hon Dat High School said that on the morning of November 23, the school received information about the video. The school leaders then conducted a review of the students in the school and determined that the student who was the victim of school violence in the video was VXH, class 10A8. At the same time, the school also coordinated with the People's Committee of Hon Dat commune to handle the incident.

Accordingly, the incident happened on November 22, students Đ.NQH and Đ.NQD of class 10A9 of the school and some other students in the group intercepted student VXH on Highway 80, blocked the car and beat VXHQH and QD took a knife that was prepared in the bag to threaten and force VXH to drive to a deserted road and then used a helmet to hit student H. on the head. Then QD filmed a video while putting a sanitary napkin in student H.'s mouth as the video was posted on social networks.

According to the Board of Directors of Hon Dat High School, on November 24, the school invited QH and QD to write a report, and both admitted to causing the incident. Seeing that the incident was serious and beyond the school's ability to handle, Hon Dat High School invited the police to intervene to resolve the matter, but as of December 1, there were still no results.

On the other hand, the school board coordinated with the homeroom teacher and VXH’s parents to visit and encourage him to go to class with peace of mind. As for the remaining students involved, the school still allows them to go to school as usual and waits for the investigation results from the Hon Dat Commune Police to decide on further action.
