Hojlund may have to leave as MU is determined to change the attack. |
According to Sky Sports , AC Milan are closely monitoring the situation of striker Rasmus Hojlund and could make an official offer in the next few days. The Athletic said Manchester United are also ready to negotiate, in the context of coach Ruben Amorim wanting to add a new striker in the summer transfer window of 2025.
Hojlund was a £72m signing for United two years ago, but has never lived up to expectations. In the 2024/25 season, the Danish striker scored just four goals in the Premier League - a meager number for a striker expected to carry the attack.
Currently, the emergence of the duo Matheus Cunha and Bryan Mbeumo has made Hojlund's position extremely shaky. In the 3-4-3 formation that Amorim plans to apply, the only center forward position will be a direct competition between Hojlund, Joshua Zirkzee or a new striker.
Despite publicly declaring that he wants to stay to prove himself, Hojlund is at risk of being pushed out of Old Trafford. His transfer value has now dropped to around £29.5 million - less than half of what MU spent. For AC Milan, a team that is in need of a striker but cannot "open their wallets" too deeply, this is a golden opportunity to own a young striker with great potential at a reasonable fee.
If this deal goes through, Hojlund could become the first "victim" in the attacking revolution that Amorim is carrying out at MU.
