Improving the quality of agricultural extension work according to agricultural economic thinking

The Provincial People's Committee has just issued a decision approving the Agricultural Extension Program of Ha Tinh province for the period 2026-2030. The program aims to improve the quality and efficiency of agricultural extension activities according to the agricultural economic thinking associated with market demand; promote the organization of large-scale commodity production, linking along the value chain based on science - technology, innovation and digital transformation.

From there, create breakthroughs in productivity, quality, food safety; develop ecological agriculture , modern countryside, civilized farmers; protect the environment and adapt to climate change; implement the Agricultural Extension Development Strategy to 2030, vision 2050 and the Resolution of the 20th Provincial Party Congress.

The program aims to improve the quality and efficiency of agricultural extension activities according to agricultural economic thinking linked to market needs.

Some key targets in the 2026-2030 period include: building 9 technical demonstration models for key crops and livestock and new objects with high economic value; organizing 9-11 intensive training courses each year; selecting 35 Phuc Trach grapefruit trees and 30 original orange trees; producing 60,000 high-quality seedlings; applying traceability and electronic stamps in product consumption;...

In the coming period, Ha Tinh will continue to replicate effective agricultural extension models, forming specialized, large-scale production areas that meet market requirements, following sustainable value chains to increase income and improve farmers' lives. The work of receiving and transferring new plant and animal varieties, advanced processes and techniques will be prioritized in line with the goal of sustainable agricultural development.

Every year, the Provincial Agricultural Extension Center organizes training courses in the direction of restructuring the agricultural sector, focusing on safe production, circular agriculture, digital transformation, chain linkage and developing a team of professional farmers. The field of varieties is focused on conservation, storage, selection and development according to new regulations, meeting the requirements of improving product quality.

The province also promotes the socialization of agricultural extension, mobilizing businesses and economic organizations to participate in technology transfer and large-scale agricultural commodity development. Trade promotion activities aim to strengthen consumption connections at supermarkets, agricultural stores, fairs, and forums; support the signing of chain linkages, brand building, and bringing products to e-commerce platforms.

The province continues to transfer technology and develop large-scale commodity agriculture.

Digital transformation is considered one of the important pillars of the program, aiming for 100% of agricultural extension models using budgets to be managed on digital platforms; all documents, videos and columns are digitized and disseminated through platforms such as Zalo, Facebook, and TikTok. At the same time, training on safe production techniques, traceability, branding, agricultural product marketing, and bringing products to e-commerce platforms is provided.

Strengthening the organization and enhancing the capacity of the grassroots agricultural extension system; reviewing and supplementing mechanisms and policies to encourage the socialization of agricultural extension work, maximizing the mobilization of resources from enterprises and scientific organizations to improve operational efficiency; promoting agricultural extension cooperation, transferring initiatives, experiences, and advanced technical advances;... are the top priority implementation solutions.
