With the motto "Employees are the center of development", Vietnam National Coal - Mineral Industries Group (TKV) and its member units focus on technological innovation, optimizing management and improving labor productivity. In 2024, the average income of employees will reach nearly 18 million VND/month, with miners alone averaging over 20 million VND/month, the highest ever.
To achieve this result, the Coal industry focused on investing more than VND 9,000 billion in mechanization, automation and computerization projects in coal mining, transportation and screening. Many mines such as Ha Lam, Khe Cham, Mao Khe, Nam Mau have applied a synchronous mechanized mining system, helping to increase productivity by 1.5 to 2 times compared to manual mining. At the same time, units promoted digital transformation in management and operation, put into use online safety monitoring systems, centralized production operation centers (IOC) and applied big data (Big Data) in forecasting output and mine environment.
Occupational safety and hygiene work is always given top priority. Every year, TKV spends thousands of billions of VND on this work, including investing in equipment, improving underground conditions, regular training, occupational health check-ups and "lung washing" programs for workers working in coal dust environments. Thanks to that, the frequency of serious occupational accidents has decreased year by year, and the working environment has become increasingly safer and more modern. This is a clear demonstration of the Coal industry's constant efforts in maintaining safe and effective production while ensuring that workers' lives are increasingly improved.
In particular, creative labor emulation movements have become a strong driving force for production. The movements "Creative miners" and "Good workers, high income" have been widely deployed, arousing the spirit of initiative and technical innovation among workers. Many initiatives have been effectively applied, helping to save tens of billions of VND, increase productivity and improve working conditions. Along with that, the Coal industry is promoting digital transformation in production and management, towards the "smart mine" model, where automation technology, artificial intelligence and big data are applied to increase mining efficiency, safety monitoring and human resource management.

Along with that, the work of training and developing human resources is given special attention. Every year, thousands of workers and engineers are trained, upgraded, learned a trade, equipped with digital skills and knowledge of modern management. Vocational schools of the Coal industry in the province have gradually become centers for training high-quality miners, meeting the requirements of deep mining and modern technology. The work of developing party members among workers is focused on; thousands of excellent union members are trained and admitted to the Party, contributing to building a force of miners who are both skilled in their profession and steadfast in politics and ideology.
Along with improving productivity, the Coal industry pays special attention to welfare and working environment. Typical programs such as "Miner's Tet", "Miner's Welfare", "Union Shelter" have become a unique cultural feature of the Coal industry, demonstrating deep concern for workers. In the period 2020-2025, thousands of new houses were built and repaired for workers in difficult circumstances; hundreds of thousands of people went on vacation and recuperated. Many units invested in upgrading "clean and civilized" worker dormitories with full facilities for living, sports and culture, helping workers have stable living conditions and long-term commitment to the profession.
Units in the industry also pay attention to nurturing the spiritual life of workers. Cultural and sports activities, art exchanges, competitions for skilled workers, programs to honor "Outstanding miners", "Happy miner families" are organized regularly, creating a vibrant competitive atmosphere, connecting the mining community. The corporate cultural environment of the Coal industry is increasingly consolidated, maintaining the tradition of "Discipline and Unity" - the spiritual values that have created the unique identity of workers in the Coal Region.
Entering a new phase, when the demand for energy conversion and green development is increasingly urgent, the Coal industry determines that the goal of sustainable development must be associated with improving the quality of human resources and workers' lives. TKV is focusing on 3 pillars: Safe production - Modern technology - Happy workers. Accordingly, all production, investment and innovation plans are aimed at people, taking the stability, attachment and creativity of workers as the foundation.
With that vision, the Coal industry not only plays a role in supplying strategic energy sources for the country, but also contributes to building the image of a "modern miner - intelligent - brave - humane", worthy of the glorious tradition of the Heroic Mining Region. When workers are fully cared for, their lives are increasingly better, they are the most important factor ensuring the sustainable development of the Coal industry in particular, and the energy industry of the whole country in general.
