Head of the Market Management Department of An Giang province, Le Khanh Hung, said that the situation of counterfeit goods, poor quality goods, goods with fake trademarks and intellectual property rights infringement is becoming more and more sophisticated and has more foreign elements.
Many groups of goods are easily counterfeited such as food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, agricultural supplies, clothing, footwear, electronics, etc., causing direct damage to legitimate manufacturing enterprises, affecting the health of consumers and the investment environment.
Although the authorities have increased inspection and handling and achieved many results, the fight against counterfeit goods is still difficult and has not met the expectations of businesses and people. Therefore, improving the ability to identify and distinguish genuine and counterfeit goods and the skills to handle violations for authorities and market management forces is an urgent requirement.
