Director of the Vietnam Institute for Rural Industries Research and Development Nguyen Bao Thoa said that the sustainable ecological agriculture development project was implemented to help production households, businesses, and cooperatives transition to a circular economy , green production, and resource saving. This is also part of Vietnam's commitment to the European Union to reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 2026. "If we want to enter the international supply chain, our products must be greener and cleaner from raw materials to packaging. The project helps units not only improve techniques but also reduce costs and increase product value," Ms. Thoa emphasized.
Thai Thuy Seafood Co., Ltd., Rach Gia Ward, specializes in producing dried shrimp and dried anchovies. The project supported an international standard moisture meter, an important device to improve the quality of dried products. The company was also supported to design new environmentally friendly kraft packaging that still ensures moisture resistance and aroma retention. "The new packaging helps the product look more luxurious, more solid, and retain its crispness and aroma for longer," said Ms. Pham Thi Bach Thuy - Director of Thai Thuy Seafood Co., Ltd.
The project also advised Ms. Thuy to upgrade the solar drying power source, install UV to sterilize products... thanks to which the enterprise decided to invest in a solar drying system in June 2025. Not only improving the technology, the enterprise is also supported to participate in the international OCOP fair VIETNAM OCOPEX 2025 in Hanoi , an opportunity to promote products to a wider market.
Thuan Loi Phat Tai Limited Liability Company, Thanh Loc Commune, specializes in producing fish floss and is receiving consulting support from the project on packaging technology to help extend its shelf life. “We really need technology to keep the taste good and the color stable. If the packaging is better, the product will have the opportunity to export,” said Ms. Le Thi Bich Nga - Director of Thuan Loi Phat Tai Limited Liability Company. The project is testing the preservation of fish floss using Mana alkali, with an expected shelf life of up to 12 months. The product sample is being tested at QUATEST 1, with results expected by the end of November 2025.
Standing Vice Chairman of the Provincial Farmers' Association Lam Quoc Toan said that the Provincial Farmers' Association will continue to introduce more businesses, cooperatives, and effective business households, especially in the fields of handicrafts, agricultural products, food, and organic fertilizers to participate in the project. "We always accompany farmers, businesses, and cooperatives, sharing difficulties and helping them find new directions. The Association will coordinate and support better the requests from the Institute, helping OCOP entities develop and reach out to the international market," said Mr. Toan.
According to the plan, the Provincial Farmers' Association and the Vietnam Institute for Rural Industry Research and Development will organize a booth to consult on packaging and product label design, and organize trade promotion seminars to create a bridge for product consumption. The Association also asked businesses and cooperatives to boldly raise difficulties in mechanisms, finance, and technology so that the authorities can organize policy dialogues and remove obstacles.
“The project lasts until 2027, with the goal of supporting businesses, especially those with female employees, to access business opportunities, contributing to ensuring social security. With changes from packaging, technical standards to green production thinking, An Giang products have the opportunity to improve quality, raise standards, raise the level, ready to serve APEC 2027 and move towards export,” said Mr. Lam Quoc Toan.
