On October 4, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong organized a conference to connect and exploit tourism products at the Con Son-Kiep Bac relic site, Thanh Mai pagoda, Kinh Chu cave, Nham Duong pagoda in the Yen Tu-Vinh Nghiem-Con Son, Kiep Bac World Heritage Complex.
The program was held at Kiep Bac Temple in the Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site (Tran Hung Dao ward) attracting the participation of representatives of the Hai Phong Tourism Association; leaders of Hai Phong University; Hai Phong Tourism College; representatives of the Hanoi UNESCO Travel Club and tourism service businesses in the city.
According to Deputy Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong Tran Van Ngoc, on July 12, 2025, the Yen Tu - Vinh Nghiem - Con Son and Kiep Bac relic and landscape complex was recognized by the World Heritage Committee as a World Cultural Heritage of humanity.
This is the first chain of world cultural heritages, and the second inter-provincial heritage among the nine world heritages of Vietnam recognized by UNESCO. This recognition is not only the pride of the three provinces and cities: Hai Phong, Quang Ninh and Bac Ninh, but also affirms the unique, vibrant and global value of Truc Lam Buddhism originating from the sacred Yen Tu mountain range.
To promote the outstanding global values of the heritage, recently, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong has assigned the Con Son - Kiep Bac Relic Management Board to develop the experiential tourism product "One journey - 5 world heritage destinations"; the experiential tour "Following the footsteps of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam" and the tour "Discovering the Con Son - Kiep Bac World Heritage."
At the same time, the Department also organized a survey team to assess the current status of service quality at relic sites in the complex.
The Con Son - Kiep Bac Relic Management Board has proactively coordinated with functional departments under the Department to review, restore and embellish a number of items of the relic; urgently upgrade technical facilities to serve tourists.
At the same time, invest in and build pilot experience models to increase the value of destinations; actively collect and systematize documents to increase the attractiveness of presentations at relics.
The conference listened to the sharing and proposals of tourism organizations and businesses on solutions to remove bottlenecks in connection, perfect and exploit tourism products to contribute to enhancing the value of heritage, share experiences in attracting tourists, especially international tourists to develop tourism in a sustainable direction, bringing benefits to businesses and the community.
At the program, representatives of the Con Son - Kiep Bac Relic Management Board and 5 travel agencies signed a cooperation agreement to connect and exploit tourism products at the relic site.
The agreement aims to promote and exploit tourism products, share experiences, strengthen human resources and attract tourists; create quality service packages.
The parties will cooperate to organize and exploit 3 experiential tours "One journey - 5 world heritage destinations"; Experiential tour "Following the footsteps of the Three Patriarchs of Truc Lam"; Tour "Discovering the World Heritage of Con Son - Kiep Bac".
The cooperation aims to facilitate the development of established tourism products; At the same time, support connections to promote and exploit tourism potential, local cuisine and organize tourism events associated with culture, history, spirituality, and experiences according to tourists' needs.
Along with exploiting 3 tour routes, travel businesses and the Con Son-Kiep Bac Relic Management Board also cooperate to build 8-10 more tourism programs to meet the diverse needs of sightseeing and experiences of tourists, especially international visitors.
In addition, regularly coordinate to organize cultural, historical and spiritual events to promote and communicate, aiming to attract 3-5 million visitors/year to visit and experience at Con Son - Kiep Bac relic site, Thanh Mai pagoda, Kinh Chu cave and Nham Duong pagoda.
On this occasion, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Hai Phong also organized a Farm Trip program attracting about 60-80 delegates to participate.
Delegates visited and learned about the value of the relics of Con Son Pagoda, Kiep Bac Temple, Nguyen Trai Temple, Thanh Mai Pagoda and participated in experiential activities: enjoying lotus tea, woodblock printing, writing calligraphy, visiting archaeological artifacts discovered at Thanh Mai Pagoda, taking photos in ancient costumes.../.
