The conference aims to affirm and honor the particularly important position and role of the captain and political commissar for each ship. These are the people who preside over, directly lead, command and operate all activities on board. With the honor of “Fatherland, ship and commander”, the captain and political commissar must clearly define their roles and responsibilities, always be modest, receptive, and build a democratic, united and unified atmosphere.
Over the years, generations of captains and political commissars of Brigade 171 have promoted the tradition of the heroic unit of the people's armed forces, many of whom have developed into leaders of the Navy Command and leaders of the Regional Command.
The current generation of ship captains and political commissars inherit the achievements and experiences of previous generations, strive to build the unit, and command and operate the ships to excellently complete the assigned tasks. The ships have thoroughly grasped and successfully implemented the training work of all levels on mastering, exploiting, and skillfully using technical equipment.
Combat training activities were carried out seriously, closely following reality, ensuring full content and time, improving the quality of the industry's staff in training and inspection. The ships participated in the exemplary regular ship competition, the surface ship training competition; directly participated in the competition of excellent Captains and Political Commissars at the Army level, winning one first prize and one second prize.
Speaking at the conference, Colonel Le Thanh Binh, Brigade Commander, praised and acknowledged the achievements and results that the ship captains and political commissars had achieved. The ship captains and political commissars play a particularly important role, being the core in building a "Regular, exemplary" ship, a comprehensively strong unit "Exemplary". At the same time, Colonel Le Thanh Binh also pointed out the limitations and shortcomings of the ship captains and political commissars in the past time, citing violations of the units as lessons learned for his unit.
