Chelsea are in crisis. |
The decision to part ways with manager Liam Rosenior has once again plunged Chelsea into the eye of criticism. This time, Gary Neville has been the most vocal critic.
Speaking on Sky Sports , the former Manchester United captain suggested that Chelsea's biggest problem lies with the owners, not the coaching staff.
Neville said he didn't see any clear plan at Stamford Bridge. According to him, the policy of giving managers and players six- to eight-year contracts right from the start was illogical. The former England defender bluntly stated that the Chelsea owners "don't know what they're doing."
Since taking over the club in 2022, the BlueCo ownership group, led by Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali, has spent over £1.5 billion on transfers. Despite this, Chelsea has repeatedly changed managers and is now looking for its seventh manager under the new era.
Neville not only targeted the leadership, but also specifically named Marc Cucurella and Enzo Fernandez.
