The Russian news site Military Review reported that the Ukrainian side reported the redeployment of paratroopers and marines of the Russian Airborne Forces (RFAF) from the Sumy front to the Pokrovsk front in Donetsk Oblast. According to Ukrainian information, this redeployment of the RFAF is related to the Dobropolye direction (north of Pokrovsk). The Deep State channel, which is affiliated with the Main Directorate of Military Intelligence of Ukraine (GRU), said that the 155th and 40th Separate Marine Brigades, as well as the 177th Separate Marine Regiment of the RFAF, had arrived in the Pokrovsk front area.
In addition, the movement of units of the RFAF's 11th Airborne Assault Brigade and 76th Airborne Assault Division was also noted by the GRU. If this information is correct, it may indicate that the RFAF General Staff decided to concentrate its forces on the Pokrovsk and Mirnograd fronts. According to Ukrainian sources, the RFAF offensive in the Sumy region was effectively stopped several weeks ago, which could lead to both Russia and Ukraine withdrawing troops from this front, to more intense fronts, such as currently Pokrovsk, Kupyansk and Kostiantynivka. Rybar channel reported that fierce fighting continues in Pokrovsk: Russian special forces are clearing the streets, advancing block by block. According to the latest information from the scene, fierce battles are underway for control of the supply line in the Novopavlivka area, where Ukrainian troops are firing mortars at Russian positions. According to available information, over the past 24 hours, on the Pokrovsk front, Russian units destroyed two BMD infantry fighting vehicles and a tank of the Ukrainian army. Active activity of the Russian FPV UAV forces was noted. Experts of the Military Summary channel describe the situation in this direction as exceptional, when two Russian wings are approaching each other - from Pokrovsk to Rodinskoye, so that a large group of Ukrainian troops east of Pokrovsk, can see that they are about to be completely surrounded.
According to the commander of the Ukrainian units in Pokrovsk, the AFU General Staff was aware of the threat, but did not dare to order the withdrawal of troops, for fear of being held responsible. Meanwhile, the Military Summary channel reported that Russian troops now control the village of Novoselivka. According to war correspondent and volunteer Anatoly Radov, the RFAF has now resumed its assault on multi-storey residential areas in Pokrovsk and has advanced along Gorky Street (also known as European Street). In contrast to previous tactics with small assault groups, this time the RFAF is attacking with fully-fledged assault units. Ukrainian forces have lost control of the garage and wholesale market areas near the city center. Although the AFU is expected to hold its positions along Gorky Street, especially the five-story residential buildings there, intense and frequent airstrikes with glide bombs, including the FAB-3000 super-bombs from Russian aircraft, have made it difficult for the AFU to defend. A Ukrainian soldier's Muchnoy channel wrote that the Russian army is controlling the direction to Kotline and Udachne, and is trying to move north to cut off the Ukrainian army's supply route to the western region of Pokrovsk. Muchnoy channel wrote that "the Russians turned Leontovichi into a bridgehead for the attack on Pokrovsk". The village of Leontovichi, south of Pokrovsk, fell under the control of the RFAF a few days ago, along with the heights surrounding the city, which are mining waste dumps.
Muchnoy channel also said, "the goal of the Russian troops is to enter the southwestern districts of Pokrovsk". But in fact, these districts were controlled by the RFAF, and AFU units have now had to retreat to the north and east with losses. The RVvoenkory channel reported that the RFAF defeated the 414th Independent Brigade of the AFU Ptah Madyar, which was reinforced for the counteroffensive south of Pokrovsk a few months ago, under the command of General Drapatiy. After suffering losses in the counteroffensive, the 414th Brigade is now suffering heavy losses in the defense of the city. Multiple sources from the battlefield said that the AFU has not yet been able to prevent Russian attack groups from breaking into the city center. However, the Russian troops have not yet reached the center of Pokrovsk; fighting is taking place at the railway station, one kilometer from the city center.
According to military experts, the RFAF offensive on Pokrovsk is gradually coming to an end. Although the Ukrainian army continues to put up fierce resistance, it is clear that the city's garrison will not be able to hold out for long. This is explained by the serious logistical difficulties that the AFU defense forces in Pokrovsk are currently experiencing. Currently, the supply routes to Pokrovsk are under the fire control of the RFAF; and if the AFU cannot overcome this, they may have to quickly withdraw from Pokrovsk.
