Russia: Vibrant Vietnamese Cultural Day activities in Tyumen

The Vietnam Cultural Day event in Tyumen contributes to introducing Vietnam's culture with strong national identity to international friends, and is an opportunity for people of the two countries to strengthen connections and exchanges.

According to a VNA correspondent in Russia, on March 24, the Vietnamese Consulate General in Ekaterinburg coordinated with the Tyumen Provincial Government to organize the Vietnamese Cultural Day in Tyumen city.

The event - held at the modern Technopark Cultural Complex in the city centre - attracted the participation of more than 300 guests, including representatives of local government leaders, leaders of Tyumen departments and agencies, Vietnamese students studying at the province's universities and a large number of local residents.

Speaking at the event, Consul General Nguyen Mai Huong said that the Vietnamese Cultural Day in Tyumen is part of a series of activities to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Vietnam and the Russian Federation (1950-2025), helping the people of Tyumen in particular and the people of Russia in general to know the unique features of the rich traditional culture of Vietnam, a nation that loves peace but is also ready to fight for independence and freedom.

Ms. Nguyen Mai Huong thanked the Tyumen Provincial Government for supporting the organization of the event, highly appreciated the contribution of the local Vietnamese student community to the success of the activity and was delighted with the enthusiastic reception of the Russian people for this cultural exchange event.

Within the framework of the Vietnam Cultural Day in Tyumen, Russian friends attended a photo exhibition about the country and people of Vietnam, enjoyed an art exchange program performed by the Vietnamese Student Association in Tyumen and Russian students, watched the movie “Thach Thao”; at the same time, Russian people attending the event also had the opportunity to experience many interesting and unique activities with strong Vietnamese imprints such as making Dong Ho paintings and bamboo dance.

Deputy Governor of Tyumen Region Andrei Panteleev assessed the Vietnam Cultural Day in Tyumen as a meaningful event and a valuable opportunity for local people to learn more about the country, culture and people of Vietnam, contributing to promoting bilateral cooperation and cultural exchange between Vietnam and Russia.

According to him, Vietnamese students have contributed greatly to the success of the event; with Russia's current Eastward policy, the young generation is the bridge between the two peoples, promoting the long-standing, friendly relationship between the two countries in the future.

Tyumen province wishes to promote cooperation with Vietnam, especially in the fields of education and economy -trade.

The Vietnam Cultural Day event in Tyumen has contributed to introducing Vietnam's culture imbued with national identity to international friends, providing an opportunity for people of the two countries to strengthen connections, exchanges, and enhance understanding of each other's countries and people; serving as a foundation to continue nurturing and developing the long-standing traditional friendship and the Vietnam-Russian Federation Comprehensive Strategic Partnership.

Tyumen province has its capital city Tyumen located more than 2,000km east of Moscow.

The city of Tyumen has an important traffic position as it lies on the Trans-Siberian railway, the Northern railway and federal roads, and is a hub for the transfer of goods from river to railway.

Tyumen was founded in the 16th century and is the oldest city in Siberia./.
