According to Thanh Nien , these days in Ngai Thau Thuong village (A Lu commune, Bat Xat district, now Y Ty commune, Lao Cai province) - known as the highest inhabited village in Vietnam, has become an attraction for locals and tourists when the sea of ​​clouds continuously appears, rolling like silver waves embracing the mountain slopes.

At an altitude of more than 2,300 m above sea level, Ngai Thau Thuong has a cool climate all year round.

However, when entering the dry season, this village takes on a stunning beauty when the entire valley before your eyes turns into a "sea of ​​clouds" floating in the early morning sun. Clouds hover over the Mong roofs, flow over the terraced fields that have been harvested, then quietly disappear into the sky.

Local people said that the most ideal time to "hunt clouds" is from October to December every year (late autumn, early winter), this time is known as the most beautiful "cloud hunting season" in Y Ty.

The clouds are thickest and most beautiful in the early morning (before 9am), when the sun has just risen and after night rains.

Mr. Lo A Sinh, Vice Chairman of Y Ty Commune People's Committee (right), said that Ngai Thau Thuong is blessed with beautiful scenery but tourism here has not yet developed because the roads are still difficult to travel.

This is one of the most beautiful cloud hunting locations in Y Ty commune. From here, you can see the clouds surrounding the mountain top below the 72-quai slope, from Ta Suoi Cau village up to Can Cau village, Y Ty commune. According to Mr. Lo A Sinh, it is called the 72-quai slope because you have to go 72 rounds to reach the top.

Mr. Sinh added that the most attractive time for tourists in Ngai Thau Thuong is the flood season (March - April) and the rice ripening season (August - September).
