As Tet (Lunar New Year) approaches, Da Nang's streets are ablaze with the colors of spring, and the market for flowers and ornamental plants is heating up. Observations along Nguyen Sinh Sac, Hoang Thi Loan, Nguyen Dinh Tuu, and Nguyen Hong Anh streets (Da Nang City) show vendors busily displaying and selling all kinds of Tet flowers. As Tet approaches, people are rushing to the streets to choose suitable flower pots to decorate their homes and businesses.

On the street specializing in flowers, ornamental plants, and handicrafts in An Khe ward, many types of flowers such as orchids, chrysanthemums, apricot blossoms, pentas, and kumquat trees are displayed in vibrant colors. The stalls are attractively decorated and arranged in color clusters to make it easy for buyers to choose.

According to observations, small decorative flowers for homes are becoming increasingly popular due to their reasonable price, ease of arrangement, and suitability for various spaces. Petunias cost from 60,000 VND per pot; snowdrops range from 70,000 to 90,000 VND per bunch; and small peach blossom trees cost around 400,000 VND per tree.

Small potted flowers like daisies, daffodils, and peonies also sell quite well, priced at around 35,000 VND per pot. Roses cost around 250,000 VND per pot.

Meanwhile, chrysanthemums continue to be a popular choice for many families. Yellow and red chrysanthemums are priced between 150,000 and 200,000 VND per pot. Many vendors say this is the most popular item at the moment because it's easy to decorate with, has vibrant colors, and can last through the entire month of January.

On Nguyen Dinh Tuu Street, alongside popular flower varieties, this area has many shops selling orchids. In the high-end segment, phalaenopsis orchids are still a popular choice for customers as gifts or for Tet (Lunar New Year) decorations. A small phalaenopsis orchid pot costs from 1-2 million VND, depending on size and number of stems. Larger pots with multi-tiered flowers can cost up to tens of millions of VND.

Ms. Gia Khanh Han, the owner of a flower shop on Nguyen Dinh Tuu Street, said that the orchid market this year is quite vibrant, with the number of customers gradually increasing as Tet approaches.

"Orchids are easy to care for, bloom for a long time, have elegant colors, and are suitable for both Tet (Lunar New Year) decorations and gifts. Many customers come early to choose the most beautiful pots that suit their taste," Ms. Han shared.

According to vendors, purchasing power is expected to increase sharply from now until the days leading up to Tet (Lunar New Year), especially for popular flowers such as chrysanthemums, kumquat trees, petunias, and various types of phalaenopsis orchids.
