In addition to the capital Bangkok, Chonburi is also the locality that co-hosts the 33rd SEA Games with about 19 sports. The most typical is women's football which will start today (December 4). Host Thailand will face Indonesia at 6:30 p.m.
Tomorrow (December 5), the Vietnamese women's team will play their opening match against Malaysia at 6:30 p.m. also at Chonburi Stadium.
Although the capacity is quite modest at about 8,680 people, the stadium is built quite modern and in accordance with professional football standards of Thailand. This is also the home ground of Chonburi FC.
The stadium also hosted the 2024 ASEAN Cup qualifier between Brunei and Timor-Leste.
