
On the afternoon of January 21st, the Department of Industry and Trade held a conference to summarize its work in 2025, implement tasks for 2026, and award the titles of People's Artisan and Distinguished Artisan.
Speaking at the conference, Comrade Hoang Minh Cuong, Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee, acknowledged and praised the achievements of the industry and trade sector in 2025.
2026 is the first year of implementing the 5-year socio -economic development plan for the period 2026-2030, a year that will create momentum for accelerating the city's new development phase.

To successfully achieve the city's main growth targets in 2026, including a 15.5% increase in the Industrial Production Index (IIP), striving for a 16% increase compared to 2025, Comrade Hoang Minh Cuong proposed that the industry and trade sector decisively and synchronously implement groups of tasks and solutions to take advantage of the city's new opportunities and advantages to promote sustainable industrial growth.
Timely identify and resolve difficulties faced by businesses; develop monthly and quarterly growth scenarios, categorized by industry group, with specific responsibilities to ensure the achievement of IIP targets.

Accelerate the investment in infrastructure for industrial clusters in the city, improving the effectiveness of attracting secondary projects. Enhance the quality of logistics services, reduce logistics costs, and contribute to increasing the capacity for customs clearance of goods.
The Vice Chairman of the City People's Committee requested the industry and trade sector to continue promoting exports and trade, expanding markets while supporting businesses, and effectively utilizing free trade agreements (FTAs). He also called for strengthening efforts to stabilize the domestic market and proactively developing plans to stabilize supply, demand, and prices of essential goods.
Proactive solutions are being implemented to ensure electricity supply for daily life, production, and business activities, while also developing green and renewable energy sources such as offshore wind power and solar power.
In addition, it is necessary to improve the effectiveness of market management and resolutely combat smuggling, trade fraud, counterfeit goods, and substandard goods, especially in the online environment.

In 2025, the industry and trade sector achieved and surpassed most of the set targets. Industry played a driving role, leading the overall economic growth. Exports were a bright spot in the city's economic development, reaching over $50 billion, an 8.5% increase compared to 2024.

In 2026, the Ministry of Industry and Trade has set the following targets: the Industrial Production Index (IIP) is expected to increase by 15.5%, striving for a 16% increase compared to 2025. Total retail sales of goods and services are projected to reach VND 427,880 billion. Export turnover is projected to reach USD 52 billion. Import turnover is projected to reach USD 43 billion…
To achieve the above targets, the industry and trade sector has set out nine key tasks and solutions, including: promoting effective regional linkages in the areas of planning, logistics services, production and consumption of goods; monitoring the situation and promptly resolving difficulties, creating favorable conditions for businesses to develop production, business and import/export; and advising the City People's Committee on the establishment of industrial clusters associated with the implementation of the ecological industrial cluster model.

Ensuring a safe, timely, and stable electricity supply for the city's socio-economic activities, especially key projects using high technology. Providing timely advice on the development of renewable energy sources such as offshore wind power, solar power, and waste-to-energy...
At the conference, many collectives and individuals in the industry and trade sector were awarded certificates of merit by the Chairman of the City People's Committee and certificates of commendation by the Director of the Department of Industry and Trade for their outstanding achievements.
On this occasion, Mr. Pham Van Tuyen from Kien Hai commune and Mr. Ha Ba Dinh from Le Thanh Nghi ward ( Hai Phong ) were awarded the title of People's Artisan in the field of fine arts and crafts by the President of Vietnam. Artisan Ha Ba Dinh has passed away.
Three individuals, including Mr. Duong Van Tien from Vinh Bao commune, Mr. Nguyen Van Ha from Tan Ky commune, and Ms. Pham Thi Luyen, were awarded the title of Outstanding Artisan in the field of fine arts and crafts by the President of Vietnam .
