Hai Phong health sector quickly mobilized medicine, medical supplies, and human resources to support Dak Lak in disease prevention and health care for people after the flood.

Timely provision of supplies and medicines

Implementing the assignment of the Politburo and the direction of the People's Committee of Hai Phong city to support Dak Lak province to overcome the consequences of storms, floods and natural disasters, on the afternoon of November 22, the Department of Health reviewed the stock of medicines, medical supplies, and human resources ready to support Dak Lak in disease prevention, care, treatment, and protection of people's health.

Associate Professor, Dr. Le Minh Quang, Director of the Department of Health, said that the health sector urgently mobilized human and material resources to support the health sector of Dak Lak province in overcoming the consequences of storms and floods. Specifically, 2.5 tons of Cloramin, 400,000 water disinfectant tablets were mobilized, helping to treat about 80,000 m3 of clean water along with a full range of medicines to ensure support activities to care for and treat diseases for people in flooded areas.

On November 23, Hai Duong Pharmaceutical and Medical Supplies Joint Stock Company departed to transport the above medicines and medical supplies to promptly support Dak Lak to soon stabilize medical work after the flood.

Medical staff ready to go

Along with that, the city's health sector also mobilized and prepared to send human resources directly to support Dak Lak in the work of taking care of people's health. The Department of Health established a support team consisting of 21 doctors, nurses, and technicians with specialized professional qualifications in disease prevention and related medical examination and treatment of Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital and the City Center for Disease Control (CDC).

“Every CDC officer and employee mobilized to go all out has a high sense of responsibility, dedication, with the highest goal of caring for and protecting the health of people in flood-affected areas in Dak Lak province. All members are committed to completing all assigned tasks to the best of their ability,” said Master Cao Xuan An.

Dr. Nguyen Van Dai, Head of the Emergency Department, An Dong facility, Viet Tiep Friendship Hospital, is also ready when the Department of Health and the unit's leaders send him to support the fight against the epidemic and take care of the health of the people of Dak Lak province. He wishes to contribute his small part to support and stabilize the epidemic situation and the health of the people of Dak Lak province after the flood.

At the meeting with 21 doctors and nurses participating in supporting Dak Lak medical staff in disease prevention and health care for people in flood-affected areas on the afternoon of November 22, Director of the Department of Health Le Minh Quang praised and highly appreciated the pioneering spirit and responsibility of doctors, nurses and technicians assigned to overcome the consequences of floods in Dak Lak province.

The city's health sector always maintains the highest state of readiness, closely coordinating with relevant units to provide support as soon as Dak Lak requests assistance. In addition to the above number of personnel, the sector can also mobilize 300 - 500 officers, doctors and medical staff when required.

With the spirit of solidarity, responsibility and humanity, the city's health sector aims to complete its tasks well, contributing with the whole country to support people in flood-affected areas to soon stabilize their lives and minimize the outbreak of diseases after the flood.
