The event is part of the “Not Alone” Campaign initiated by the Digital Trust Alliance, under the auspices of UNODC, UNICEF, the Ministry of Public Security , the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Health, in coordination with the Hanoi People's Committee, the Department of Cyber Security and High-Tech Crime Prevention (A05) and the National Cyber Security Association.
In his opening speech, Major General Le Xuan Minh, Director of Department A05 (Ministry of Public Security), said: “The situation of online child abuse and exploitation is increasing globally. In Vietnam, since the beginning of the year, the police force has handled more than 50 online kidnapping cases, 100% of the victims were between the ages of 18 and 22, of which 90% were female.”

He emphasized that these numbers are a “strong warning and call for action”, requiring the cooperation of the whole society, from families, schools, technology businesses to international organizations.
“The 'Not Alone' campaign is a timely effort to promote collective action to protect children and adolescents from the risks of kidnapping and online fraud,” said Major General Le Xuan Minh.
According to the Cyber Security Department, in less than a month of implementation, the campaign has attracted more than 2,000 schools nationwide to respond with more than 500 million views on cyberspace.
At the opening ceremony, Ms. Michaela Bauer, Deputy Representative of UNICEF Vietnam, emphasized the importance of the event in the context of the world's first international convention on cybercrime recently signed in Hanoi: "This is a historic milestone, sending a strong message of shared commitment to peace , progress and safety for all."

“35 years ago, Vietnam was the first country in Asia and the second in the world to ratify the Convention on the Rights of the Child. Today, Vietnam continues to be a pioneer in the fight against cybercrime to protect children and people. The ‘Not Alone’ campaign and ‘Safe Online’ Day demonstrate that strong commitment,” said Ms. Michaela Bauer.

Multi-sensory experience space and music party
On November 1-2, the entire Dong Kinh Nghia Thuc Square area and a part of Hoan Kiem Lake walking street became a "Multi-sensory digital experience space", where people and tourists can interact with vision and sound, explore models and games simulating online scam and kidnapping situations.
Next to that is an interactive technology experience area, introducing tools and skills to protect children and teenagers in cyberspace.

On the evening of November 1, the Minishow "School Talent" gathered students from seven universities and high schools in Hanoi, spreading the proactive spirit of Gen Z generation in the message "Not Alone".
In particular, on the evening of November 2, there will be a music Gala "Not Alone" - a connecting party with the participation of many famous artists such as Den, Mono, tlinh, Quang Hung MasterD, Low G, Lam Bao Ngoc, Quang Dang... bringing a message about connection and safety in the digital world.

The “Not Alone” Online Safety Day is not only an experiential event, but also a practical action in implementing the Hanoi Convention against Cybercrime, affirming Vietnam’s pioneering role in global efforts to protect children in the digital environment.
“We are not alone in this journey. When each individual and organization acts together, cyberspace will become safer for everyone,” Major General Le Xuan Minh emphasized.
