The Red Journey is a large-scale blood donation campaign nationwide, organized 12 times (2013-2024) and taking place in 59 provinces and cities before the merger, attracting millions of participants. 2025 marks the 13th anniversary of the Red Journey, taking place from June 1 to July 31, with the participation of 48 provinces and cities before the merger of provincial administrative units.
To date, Red Journey has organized more than 3,100 blood donation points, receiving nearly 940,000 units of blood (in 2024 alone, the program achieved a record of 128,119 units of blood at 341 blood donation points), contributing significantly to raising people's awareness of voluntary blood donation and overcoming blood shortages in the summer.
In Can Tho, after 11 years of launching the Red Journey program, the city has mobilized more than 8,000 people to register to donate blood and has received more than 6,900 units of blood; there are households and individuals who have donated blood more than 50 times.
From December 1, 2024 to May 31, 2025, Can Tho received 31,468 units of blood (of which, Can Tho City received 21,336 units of blood, Hau Giang Province 5,911 units and Soc Trang Province 4,221 units), contributing to promptly meeting the blood needs of patients.

Speaking at the festival, Vice Chairwoman of Can Tho City People's Committee Nguyen Thi Ngoc Diep expressed her deep gratitude to the voluntary blood donors. Can Tho City leaders also called on all levels, sectors, youth union members, cadres, soldiers and people of Can Tho to actively respond and participate in the Red Journey program for the health and happiness of the people, contributing to spreading the voluntary blood donation movement to the community.
On this occasion, the Central Red Journey Organizing Committee presented a souvenir flag and symbol to the Steering Committee for Voluntary Blood Donation in Can Tho City; honored 44 households and individuals with achievements in blood donation and voluntary blood donation in 2025; visited and presented gifts to 20 patients being treated for blood diseases at Can Tho Hematology and Blood Transfusion Hospital.
