Nghe An province is building a resettlement area for people affected by natural disasters.

On January 23, the People's Committee of Nghe An province announced that it had approved a plan for the resettlement of residents in areas affected by natural disasters after the 2025 storms and floods, with a total budget of over 143.4 billion VND, including 120 billion VND for direct support to households and 23.4 billion VND for infrastructure investment.

Accordingly, in Nghe An province, 480 households and individuals affected are eligible for resettlement through a mixed relocation model, mainly within the same commune or region. This mixed relocation will be implemented in 2026 in 21 communes, focusing on mountainous and border areas such as Nhon Mai, My Ly, Tuong Duong, Muong Quang, Yen Hoa, Huu Kiem, Chieu Luu, and Tam Quang…

Previously, the People's Committee of Nghe An province also issued a decision to order the emergency construction of 5 concentrated resettlement areas for disaster-stricken areas in My Ly, Nhon Mai, and Muong Tip communes, with a total investment of 140 billion VND.

These projects are expected to be completed in 2026, aiming to provide stable housing for approximately 240 families affected by the 2025 storms and floods.
