After 15 years abroad, artist Ngan Linh is happy to do charity work in her hometown.

After 15 years away from his homeland, artist Ngan Linh returned in the early days of the Lunar New Year 2026. Instead of a grand live show or a personal event, he chose a quiet but meaningful way to return: standing on a charity stage, sharing his songs and expressing his gratitude.

For three consecutive days, from February 8th to 10th, artist Ngan Linh participated in three meaningful charity programs organized by renowned artists.

On February 8th, he contributed his voice to a program organized by Meritorious Artist Kim Tu Long to raise funds to help artist Vuong Chi Thanh with his medical treatment. On February 9th, he continued to participate in a program organized by People's Artist Que Tran and presented gifts to elderly artists residing at the Thi Nghe Artists' Retirement Home, including Mac Can, Ngoc Dang, Lam Son, Huynh Thanh Tra, Dieu Hien, and others.

And on February 10th, he participated in a program organized by People's Artist Le Thuy, presenting Tet gifts to senior artists who have dedicated their lives to the stage.

On stage, Ngan Linh's voice still retains the poignant warmth of an artist once beloved by the audience. But more than anything, it is the voice of someone returning with profound gratitude.

Artist Ngan Linh emotionally shared: "After 15 years away from my homeland, I am incredibly happy to be back on stage, singing for my audience. Participating in charitable programs and sharing my feelings with colleagues and people in need is a great honor. I would like to thank the audience and colleagues who have always loved and remembered me."

Before participating in and performing the three aforementioned shows, artist Ngan Linh returned to Hong Ngu ( Dong Thap province ), where he personally organized a Tet gift-giving event for poor farmers. Although the gifts were not substantial in material value, they contained the heartfelt sentiment of an artist who never forgets his roots.

He quietly accomplished this using his own resources. For him, it was a way to repay his homeland and show gratitude to the audience who had loved and supported him.

And that charitable journey will continue next March, when he and the artists of artist Phuong Nga will perform charity shows in Bac Ninh , bringing songs to audiences in the North. "I hope to do many similar performances to help fellow artists who are facing many hardships due to illness and loneliness," said artist Ngan Linh.

Ngan Linh - A lifetime dedicated to singing

Artist Ngan Linh began his singing career at the age of 18, when he passed the audition for the young actor selection class at the Tran Huu Trang Cai Luong Theatre. After three years of training, he matured alongside a generation of talented artists such as Meritorious Artist Thanh Thanh Tam, Chi Linh, Van Ha, Linh Chau, Thai Ngan, Thai Chau… He quickly gained audience attention through Cai Luong plays such as: "The Tyrant's Downfall" and "Finding Life Again".

Later, he worked at many major Cai Luong (Vietnamese traditional opera) troupes: the Youth and Trade Cai Luong Troupe, the Long An Cai Luong Troupe (now the Vam Co Cai Luong Art Troupe), the Tien Giang 1 Cai Luong Troupe, the Cao Van Lau Cai Luong Troupe, etc.

In each place, he left his mark through emotionally rich performances in plays such as "The Blood of the Innocent," "The Burden of the Nation," and "The Beauty in the Painting"... Upon returning to Ho Chi Minh City, he continued performing at the Hoa Lan stage (owned by artists Tan An and Xuan Lan) and was loved by the audience for his performance in the Indian-inspired Cai Luong play "The Tears of the Divine Crow."

The pinnacle of his career was when he joined the Minh To Traditional Opera Troupe. His role as Hua Bach Tung in the play "Thanh Xa - Bach Xa," ​​performed alongside two stars, Vu Linh and Tai Linh, brought Ngan Linh closer to the public and solidified his position in the hearts of opera enthusiasts.

Later, when the cải lương (Vietnamese traditional opera) stage faced difficulties, he switched to singing sentimental songs. Regardless of the genre, he always maintained sincerity, the most important element that makes an artist.

Fifteen years abroad is a long enough time for an artist to live with homesickness. But artist Ngan Linh's return doesn't bring regret, but gratitude.
