In 2026, Thanh Hoa aims to welcome approximately 11.7 million tourists , generating total tourism revenue exceeding 34,000 billion VND. The April 30th - May 1st holiday is considered a crucial kick-off for the summer tourism season, especially in key areas such as Sam Son, Hai Tien, Hai Hoa beaches and the eco-tourism areas in the Mekong Delta.
From very early on, many accommodations in Sam Son, Hai Tien, etc., recorded occupancy rates of 80-100%, especially hotels with prime locations or comprehensive services. The sharp increase in guests has forced the entire operational system, from reception, housekeeping, restaurant service to security and technical staff, to work at maximum capacity, with continuous overtime to ensure that every aspect of service runs smoothly.

Reception staff at Son Trang 1 Hotel in Sam Son are working extra to serve tourists during the peak holiday period of April 30th - May 1st.
Mr. Vu Duy Khanh, Manager of Son Trang 1 Hotel in Sam Son, shared: “Holidays not only bring in important revenue but also determine the image of the entire tourist season. If the quality of service declines, businesses can lose their reputation even during the most competitive period.”
In the food and beverage sector, cafes and restaurants, from city centers to coastal tourist areas, have seen a surge in customers, with many businesses operating at near-full capacity. Ms. Nguyen Thu Ha, owner of Times Cafe on Tran Phu Street, Hac Thanh Ward, said: "During holidays, the number of customers usually doubles compared to normal days, especially in the evenings and during family outings. Working more than 12 hours a day is quite stressful, but it's also a good opportunity for employees to increase their income through overtime pay and sales bonuses."

During the April 30th - May 1st holiday, staff at many cafes had to work overtime continuously to meet the surge in customers.
At bus stations, intercity bus depots, taxi services, contract vehicles, and tourist transport services, the surge in travel demand has forced businesses to increase trips, extend operating hours, and mobilize maximum manpower. Drivers, dispatchers, ticket sellers, and service staff are working almost continuously to meet the surge in passenger traffic during the holiday season.
Mr. Le Van Tinh, a bus driver on the Hanoi -Thanh Hoa route for Dai Nam bus company, said: "Passengers usually fill up very early, and many trips have to be reinforced continuously, significantly shortening the rest time between trips. Although it's more tiring than usual, this is also a big season for business, so almost everyone tries to stay in the job." The sustained operation of the transportation industry is contributing to keeping connectivity, tourism, and consumption running smoothly during the holiday season.
Not only direct service sectors, but also the healthcare , electricity, water supply, rescue, and environmental sanitation systems maintain a 24/7 readiness. Hospitals are prepared to respond to the increased risk of traffic accidents, food poisoning, and other accidents. The electricity sector has deployed technical personnel on standby to ensure a stable power supply for tourist areas, commercial centers, and residential areas. Environmental workers, marine rescue teams, and security forces are also working harder to maintain the landscape, cleanliness, and safety for residents and tourists.
To ensure market stability, the Thanh Hoa Department of Industry and Trade has directed market management forces throughout the province to strengthen inspections and supervision of businesses and services in the food, accommodation, transportation, and trade sectors; resolutely handling acts of commercial fraud, counterfeit goods, substandard goods, price gouging, and food safety violations. The focus is on protecting the rights of tourists, controlling the supply of essential goods, and maintaining a transparent business environment throughout the entire summer tourist season, not just during holidays.

Staff at Winmart supermarket are working overtime to ensure a sufficient supply of goods to meet the shopping needs of the people.
Behind every fulfilling holiday lies the sustained operation of numerous industries that never take a break. All of them contribute to maintaining economic growth, ensuring social security, and improving the quality of services for the people.
