This Chinese woman was completely surprised when the police told her about the land in her name.
Born into a poor family, Ms. Khuong (China) had to drop out of school early to work to help her parents. According to some neighbors, she went to Beijing to find work.
Because she has no qualifications, she is only hired to do hard work with little pay. But knowing that her children's future depends on her, she does not complain.
After living and working in the city for about 10 years, she met her current husband. They got married and had a son.
Things started to go wrong when Ms. Khuong’s mother-in-law suffered a stroke. Fortunately, her family treated her in time and her condition improved. However, she still needed someone to support her.
During the first two years of her illness, her father-in-law was still healthy and took care of her. Khuong and her husband only came to help in their free time. However, in 2015, her father-in-law passed away after being diagnosed with liver cancer.
“After losing her partner, my mother’s condition became increasingly serious. It seemed that she was losing the ability to walk and needed someone to be there for her 24/7.
At first, my siblings pooled money to hire a maid. However, after a short time, everyone left because the work was extremely hard. Unable to arrange anything, I decided to quit my job in the city to return to my hometown to take care of my mother-in-law,” Ms. Khuong recounted.

In the early days, this woman thought the job was not too difficult. But when she experienced it, she realized that she had misunderstood. Taking care of the elderly is not easy, but she still patiently followed her wishes.
Over time, her health gradually deteriorated. She was not strong enough to take care of her alone. She and her husband shared this story many times with their younger siblings in the family to seek some support. However, they all used the excuse of work and living far away to avoid responsibility. Although a bit sad, the couple did not want to make things difficult for everyone, so they had to take care of their elderly mother alone for the next 8 years.
Until 2023, after a period of fighting illness, the old lady passed away. After finishing her mother's work, Ms. Khuong and her husband returned to their daily lives. She went back to looking for a job and taking care of her small family.
Everything would have been fine if she hadn't received a phone call from the local police around January this year. At first, she was extremely confused because she didn't know what she had done wrong. However, as scheduled, she still went to the office to work.
There, the police officer informed her that her land was being cleared for road construction. Therefore, the authorities wanted to meet her to complete the procedures for receiving compensation. Hearing this, she was surprised because she had never heard of this land.
The land was left to Ms. Khuong by her mother.
It was only then that the police began to search the records. It turned out that around 2020, Ms. Khuong’s mother-in-law had secretly transferred ownership of the land to her. So now, all the compensation money for the land would belong to her.
What surprised the woman even more was the amount of money she received. According to local police, the family's land was large, so the estimated compensation was 6 million yuan (about 21 billion VND).
Only then did Ms. Khuong truly understand that her mother would never let any of her children suffer. Her 8 years of taking care of her mother by herself were well rewarded.
