Malaysian star heartbroken after father passed away before match against U22 Vietnam

(Dan Tri) - Haqimi Azim Rosli suffered a great mental shock when his father passed away, just a few days before the match between U22 Malaysia and U22 Vietnam at SEA Games 33.

In an emotional post on Instagram on the morning of December 9, Haqimi Azim Rosli said his father had suddenly passed away. He wrote: “I would like to inform you that my father passed away this morning. His passing was so unexpected and it was difficult for our family to accept, but we try to be calm in the will of Allah.”

He sent a message: “I hope everyone will pray for my father, ask Allah to forgive his mistakes, accept all his good deeds and give him a beautiful place with Him. Please pray for my family to have enough strength and patience to overcome this difficult time. Thank you all for your prayers and encouragement.”

Haqimi is an extremely important player of U22 Malaysia. In the match against U22 Laos, this player contributed 1 goal to help the "Tigers" win 4-1. After the match, he received the award for the best player of the match.

After the match, Haqimi called on his teammates, fans and the media to focus on the match against U22 Vietnam. The striker said: “Now the whole team needs to focus on the next match against U22 Vietnam. I hope the players will give 100%.”

It is not yet clear whether Haqimi Azim will be present in the match against U22 Vietnam or not because he will most likely return to Malaysia to take care of his father's funeral. This match will take place at 4pm on December 11. U22 Malaysia and U22 Vietnam both only need a draw to qualify for the semi-finals.
