'Strange language' at event of thousands of Chinese people in Ha Long due to translation error?

On November 13, speaking with Thanh Nien , a representative of Cuong Lam International Tourism Trading Company Limited (Cuong Lam Company) said that the unit had sent a written explanation to the authorities of Quang Ninh province regarding the incident of "strange language" appearing at an event attended by thousands of Chinese people in Ha Long.

Specifically, Cuong Lam Company said that on November 9, at the FLC International Conference Center (FLC Ha Long resort complex), an exchange event took place with the title "Interesting World " - Long Nham System Steel Army Exchange Program 2023". The closed internal exchange program of Thai Sinh Thiem Tay - Khanh My Medicine Co., Ltd. in the hall of the FLC Ha Long hotel complex and had no outside guests; all attendees were Chinese.

In addition, the event's content was developed by the company based on the meeting minutes of departments and agencies of Quang Ninh province on November 1.

Cuong Lam Company also said that this unit has censored the content based on the examination of the functional agencies of Quang Ninh province.

Regarding this content, Cuong Lam Company said that it had checked, reviewed and found errors in the translation from Chinese to Vietnamese. The incorrect translation content can easily cause misunderstandings for readers and outsiders.

"Through the above incident, we are aware of the shortcomings in the organization; the language translation still has many shortcomings, causing misunderstandings in the communication information system regarding the lines as reported by Thanh Nien Newspaper. Our company would like to take responsibility for the above incident and seriously learn from experience for future organizations," said a representative of Cuong Lam Company.

Previously, on November 12, Thanh Nien Newspaper published an article verifying the 'strange language' at the event where thousands of Chinese people organized an exchange in Ha Long.

According to the plan, Cuong Lam Company organized for more than 5,000 tourists from China to visit Vietnam; these tourists were divided into many groups, each group had about 1,000 - 1,200 tourists. So far, 2 groups have been organized.

Group 1 entered on November 4 and departed on November 8; group 2 entered on November 7 and departed on November 11; group 3 entered on November 8 and departed on November 12; group 4 has no specific schedule yet.

The above groups of tourists entered the country via Huu Nghi border gate (Lang Son) - visited Hanoi, Ha Long, then exited the country via Mong Cai border gate (Quang Ninh). The guests attending the above event were officers and employees of Thai Sinh Thiem Tay - Khanh My Medicine Company Limited (China).
