"People around us" spread humane and kind values

With the message “People living around us - each life brings us a lesson”, the program depicts ordinary life stories. They are the technology car driver who works hard to earn a living, the diligent worker, the diligent cleaning lady, the kindergarten teacher, the housekeeper who works hard to raise his children to study well, the father who collects scrap metal whose son becomes a doctor, the painter who rushes into a fire to save people, the window cleaner who hangs in mid-air, or the water supply and drainage staff, the security guard, the electrician who keeps the city alive day and night… Stories about people in all professions, ages, everywhere but who share the same optimistic spirit, love of work, live sincerely, spreading positive energy with their own hands and hearts.

Each episode of “People Around Us” is 30 minutes long, featuring simple slices of life and through the conversation and sharing of the host, musician Nguyen Van Chung, viewers can feel the enduring devotion to the profession, the love and pride in their work, and the optimism amidst adversity of the very ordinary characters. That is the journey of the only remaining family circus in Ho Chi Minh City; the worker who both goes to work and collects scrap metal to raise his children to be educated; the rescue workers who face countless difficulties day and night but still persevere in their profession, saving people; the old woman who has lived nearly half a century as a motorbike repairman…

Through each rhythm of life and the simple sharing of the characters, viewers can better understand the characteristics of their profession, their joys, hardships and even their little-known confidences. From those seemingly small lives, viewers find great values in the spirit of overcoming difficulties, kindness, perseverance and optimism. They will see that despite the hardships of making a living, they are still willing to share with the less fortunate; despite knowing the danger, they are still willing to rush in to help and save people... And from those simple stories, viewers can easily reflect, sympathize and find inspiration to live more positively every day.

Watching “People Around Us”, audiences will feel human values through many emotional stories from life. Street vendors, teachers in remote areas, frontline doctors, volunteers for social and community projects… still work silently, overcoming adversities to spread kindness and compassion in life. They are the ones who contribute to creating the image of the Vietnamese people as simple but resilient and compassionate.
