The man who brutally beat a woman in a restaurant is her common-law husband.

Regarding the case of a man brutally beating a woman at a restaurant that appeared on Facebook, causing outrage, on June 9, news from Ca Mau City Police (Ca Mau) said that the unit had identified both people in the clip.

The clip recorded Mr. S. beating Mrs. A.

Immediately after the clip appeared on social media, Ca Mau City Police got involved, verified, tracked down the two people in the clip and invited both of them to work.

Accordingly, the man is PMS (38 years old, residing in Hamlet 3, Ward 6, Ca Mau City) who works as a driver and the woman is LTHA (43 years old, residing in Hamlet 8, Ward 5, Ca Mau City). The two have been living together as husband and wife since 2021 but have not registered their marriage.

At around 10pm on June 4, these two people went to MH restaurant on Tran Hung Dao street (Hamlet 6, Ward 5, Ca Mau city) for dinner. There, Mrs. A. suspected that Mr. S. had feelings for someone else, so she became jealous, leading to a loud argument. Unable to control himself, Mr. S. threw a bowl of food at Mrs. A., leading to a fight.

After everyone stopped him, Mr. S. took his car to Phan Ngoc Hien street and sat there for about 10 minutes, then Ms. A. also came and sat with him. A while later, the two went home. On the afternoon of June 6, the clip appeared on social media.

"Authorities will consider criminal penalties against Mr. S," the source said.
