Three weeks after returning home, Mr. H. and his father returned to the Social Work Department of Cho Ray Hospital with bright smiles and trembling voices. This time, they did not come to ask for help, but to express their gratitude...

Master Le Minh Hien, Head of Social Work Department, Cho Ray Hospital, recalls that on April 14, this place received the file of patient MTH (born in 1983, from Can Tho).

Mr. H. is the main breadwinner in the family. While cleaning the aquarium, he accidentally inhaled toxic gas produced from a chemical reaction, causing severe respiratory failure.

After the accident, he was transferred from his hometown to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of Cho Ray Hospital in critical condition, requiring a ventilator and continuous dialysis. The patient's daily treatment costs up to 20 million VND, while his family is in difficult circumstances, with his mother dying early, his father being old and weak, and his brother suffering from mental illness.

Faced with that situation, specialist doctor 2 Tran Thanh Linh, Head of ICU, called directly to the Head of Social Work Department, proposing coordination to urgently save the patient.

Accordingly, the Emergency Resuscitation Department prioritized treatment first, followed the following procedures to prepare a profile for the Social Work Department to call for support from kind-hearted people. In just a short time, more than 100 million VND was contributed - an amount beyond expectations - enough for Mr. H. to feel secure in his treatment.

By April 23, Mr. H.'s health gradually stabilized and he was discharged from the hospital. Three weeks later, he and his father returned to the Social Work Department to receive the remaining money after paying the hospital bill.

The father and son brought some fruits from their hometown, fresh green mangoes and fragrant guavas, as a sincere thank you from the bottom of their hearts to the medical staff who had devotedly treated the patient.

"I am extremely grateful. Thank you to the doctors who devotedly treated my son, thank you to the Social Work Department and the benefactors who helped my son with money for treatment," Mr. H's father shared with emotion.

"That affectionate saying is a great encouragement for us - those who work to connect love.

And once again, I would like to thank all the hearts that have joined the Social Work Department in giving a chance to live to Mr. H., a son, a main worker, a life that deserves to be revived," Master Le Minh Hien expressed.
