Man who stole phone in hospital was arrested after more than 2 weeks

On the afternoon of November 12, An Giang Provincial Police said they are continuing to investigate and clarify the phone theft that occurred at Chau Doc General Hospital.

Before that, at around 4am on October 22, a 21-year-old woman (living in Chau Doc ward) was taking care of a sick child at the Pediatrics Department - Chau Doc General Hospital. While sleeping on a sofa, she left her pink iPhone 15 Plus (256 GB capacity) and 290,000 VND under her pillow. At 8am the same day, she discovered that her phone and money were missing, so she reported it to the hospital security.

Through security camera footage, authorities identified a man around 40-50 years old, wearing a blue shirt and black pants, who secretly reached under the pillow to steal a phone, then quickly left the scene.

On the morning of November 10, Chau Doc Ward Police received the report and worked with Le Quoc Binh (53 years old, residence unknown). At the police station, Binh admitted to committing the theft.
