Chau Doc ward residents voluntarily handed over a large-toothed turtle.

According to the Mobile Forest Ranger and Forest Fire Prevention and Fighting Team, An Giang Provincial Forest Ranger Department, on the afternoon of December 9, the unit received a 7.9kg toothed turtle voluntarily handed over by a resident of Chau Doc ward (An Giang province).

Forest rangers of Forest Ranger District V received a toothed turtle handed over by a local resident.

This turtle was discovered in his garden by Mr. Phan Phu Quoc, a resident of Chau Doc Ward. After investigating and realizing that this was a rare animal that needed to be protected, Mr. Quoc proactively reported and handed it over to the Forest Protection Department of Region V.

Rangers from the Forest Protection Department of Region V received the turtle, checked its health, and handed it over to the Hon Me Wildlife Rescue Station for care, monitoring, and release into the natural environment.
