People in the capital strongly responded to the campaign to 'clean up' driving records and licenses.

After 48 hours of implementing the peak of the general review, the iHanoi system recorded more than 32,000 vehicle data and driving licenses voluntarily updated by Hanoi residents, showing the quick, proactive participation and companionship of the community in building "correct - sufficient - clean - viable" traffic data.

In just two days (up to 5:00 p.m. on November 13), Hanoi City Police received 32,417 pieces of data sent by citizens to the “Digital Capital Citizen - iHanoi” application, including 17,993 driver's license data and 14,424 vehicle data. This is a positive first step in the overall plan to clean up vehicle registration and driver's license data throughout the area.

To achieve quick results, Hanoi City Police have promoted propaganda in many forms: Cooperating with the press to post instructional videos and infographics; showing clips on LED screen systems at shopping centers; and sending working groups to residential areas to "hold hands and show how to do things", especially supporting the elderly or those who are not familiar with using smartphones.

In Tay Ho ward, working groups went to each household to help people operate directly on the application. Mr. Nguyen Dinh Hieu (group 7, cluster 1) said it only took a few minutes to complete after being guided on-site. Meanwhile, in Me Linh commune, Mr. Le Van Quang shared that the declaration process was "fast - clear - convenient", thanks to the thorough propaganda by the commune police beforehand.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Hong Quang, Deputy Chief of Tay Ho Ward Police, said the unit has deployed officers to every residential area with the goal of ensuring that 100% of residents can perform data cleaning themselves.

Ms. Le Thi Hong Lien (resident group 3, Yen Nghia ward) shared: Previously, people had to go directly to the police or the commune-level People's Committee to carry out administrative procedures. "However, with the update of vehicle registration and driver's license data, the authorities have come to your home to guide you through the procedures, which is very convenient, especially for those who work and do not have time to go directly to the agencies like us," Ms. Lien said.

Captain Nguyen The Hoang, an officer of the Regional Police Team (Yen Nghia Ward Police) added that after being informed, disseminated, and instructed by the authorities to clean up vehicle registration data and driver's licenses, the local people basically responded enthusiastically.

“A large number of people were present at the community center before the authorities gave instructions. In addition, officers and soldiers of the ward police, along with the security and order forces at the grassroots level, and the residential groups went to each resident's house to propagate and guide them on cleaning vehicle registration data and driver's licenses on the iHanoi application,” said Captain Nguyen The Hoang.

Regarding this peak implementation, according to Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Duyen, an officer of the Road Motor Vehicle Registration and Management Team (Hanoi Traffic Police Department), the unit has established 25 working groups to go to each ward, commune, and residential area to guide people in cleaning vehicle registration data and driver's licenses, creating the most favorable conditions for people to carry out procedures quickly.

With the goal of cleaning and digitizing nearly 8 million vehicle data and 130,000 driving licenses, Hanoi Police are working day and night with the people, determined to complete on schedule.

Lieutenant Colonel Nguyen Thi Duyen added that during the peak implementation, some elderly people still encountered difficulties in the process of operating on the iHanoi application. Based on that reality, the working group advised the People's Committees and Police of wards and communes to increase propaganda about the features and utilities of the iHanoi application so that people can proactively carry out data update procedures themselves; for cases of lonely elderly people and families in difficult circumstances, the functional forces will come to the house to support the implementation.

The review and standardization of nearly 8 million vehicle data, 130,000 driving licenses, and the digitization of 8 million vehicle registration records is a major task. Hanoi City Police are mobilizing maximum forces and closely coordinating with the people to complete the task on schedule, aiming to build a modern and synchronous traffic data system, effectively serving state management and ensuring traffic order and safety.
