Starting a business from the homeland
Ms. Bui Thi Khanh in Tan Hung ward ( Hai Phong city) once studied and worked in Japan. During the years away from home, she always wondered what to do to return and create value for her homeland. That thought urged her to leave Japan and return to her hometown to start a business in 2016.
That same year, the couple established Khanh Tho Production, Trade and Service Company Limited, starting with the field of producing aquatic breeds and feed.
Realizing the potential of the locality to develop the farming of perch - a familiar specialty of the Northern Delta, Ms. Khanh and her husband switched to farming this type of fish. She said that this type of fish is suitable for the quality of water and soil, the fish meat is firm, fragrant and sweet.
In the initial stage, the company focused on building a closed production chain from the following stages: seed production, feed supply, technical support, farming process supervision, and output purchasing. This closed chain not only reduces costs for farmers, but also helps the company proactively source commercial tilapia in both quantity and quality.
After only a few years, the company has established a wide network of connections with hundreds of participating households, with monthly output reaching tens of tons. The company supplies tilapia to the market and serves future processing plans.
In 2019, Ms. Khanh and her husband decided to invest in building a food processing factory using modern technology, aiming to develop convenient instant products from their hometown perch.
From here, a series of instant vermicelli, rice noodles, and vermicelli products using real perch from Khanh Tho were born, the most famous of which is instant perch rice noodles. This is an important step, increasing the value of local agricultural products and contributing to building Khanh Tho's unique brand in the market.
Bringing hometown specialties far and wide
The special feature of Khanh Tho instant rice noodles with perch lies in the closed production process and modern technology. From the raw material processing to packaging, the pure Vietnamese flavor of the dish is retained to the highest level.
The fish pieces are deboned, vacuum-packed, sterilized at high temperature, ensuring safety and retaining the natural sweetness. The rice noodles are made from fragrant sticky rice with a characteristic chewy and fragrant texture.

The instant rice vermicelli with perch package is only 120g but contains meticulousness in every step: soft and chewy brown rice vermicelli; richly marinated perch; the broth is concentrated from fish bones stewed for 24 hours; combined with onions, dill, and pepper to create a delicate flavor, typical of Northern cuisine .
In just a few minutes, users can enjoy the full flavor of instant perch rice noodles, which is quick, convenient, and still rich in nutrition. The product is suitable for everyone, especially those who have little time to prepare food.
Not stopping at perch rice noodles, the company continues to research and launch 16 other convenient product lines, such as: perch rice noodles, perch porridge, eel vermicelli, crab rice noodles, chicken rice noodles, seafood rice noodles... Of which, 10 products have achieved 4-star OCOP certification.
In 2020, Ms. Khanh's production model won first prize in the "Women's Creative Entrepreneurship" Contest of Hai Duong province (old). In the following years, Khanh Tho Production, Trade and Service Company Limited continuously received many awards, such as: Top 10 national brands, Vietnamese products loved by consumers...
Currently, the company's products are available in many provinces and cities; distributed in many large supermarket chains and clean food stores nationwide. In particular, many products have been successfully exported abroad and are continuing to expand the market further.

The company also creates stable jobs for nearly 100 local workers, while maintaining the livelihoods of hundreds of households in the tilapia farming chain. This is the most sustainable value that Ms. Khanh wants to bring to her hometown.
Sharing about her entrepreneurial journey, Ms. Bui Thi Khanh confided that in the early days of launching the product to the market, the company faced countless challenges: customers were unfamiliar with a new product, the price was higher than regular instant noodles. At that time, the business lacked modern machinery and had difficulty accessing preferential loans.
But with determination and perseverance, the company actively participates in domestic and international trade fairs and conferences to seek partners and orders; patiently listens to every little suggestion from consumers to adjust and perfect the product. It is from these silent efforts that Khanh Tho perch rice noodles gradually win the hearts of consumers.
With a desire to contribute, boldly apply technology and a deep love for her hometown's cuisine, Ms. Bui Thi Khanh has turned rice noodles with perch - a rustic dish of the Hai Phong countryside into a big brand, reaching out to the world with the desire to develop Vietnamese agricultural products in a modern and sustainable direction.
